The Safari Storme is a rugged SUV built to take a beating. It comes with a strong diesel engine and offers good interior space for the first and second rows
The Tata Safari Storme was introduced in 2012, an SUV that carries forward the Safari brand but is an all-new beast underneath. The Storme borrows its underpinnings from the Aria, which is quite a good thing, considering the Aria is one of the most advanced Tata cars ever built. Adding that strong chassis to a otherwise capable SUV, Tata Motors could take on the likes of the Mahindra Scorpio in the indigenous 4x4 SUV battle. The Safari Storme’s prices range from Rs.9.99 to 14.35 lakh ( Ex-showroom Delhi)
The Safari Storme gets extensive cosmetic changes to the Safari. While the silhouette remains the same, a new headlight design, honeycomb mesh grille and new bumper design makes it look a lot more contemporary. In profile it looks a bit lower than the pre-update car and the rear gets smartly styled taillamps and door design. The Safari Storme bears the same form but looks more modern now.
On the interior front, the dual tone black-silver dashboard looks a lot neater now and the overall quality has also improved significantly. The steering wheel that has been borrowed from the Zest, is a good addition. Seats get better cushioning and overall levels of space are impressive. You continue to get jump seats at the back which is usable only for kids. You sit high and get an excellent view of the surroundings from the cabin of the Safari Storme, which in these days of compact SUV is a luxury quite a few would like.
