I have been driving SUV since 2006 (Middle East). I shifted back to India in 2011 and was look out for a good and powerful SUV. My first consideration was ARIA, though when I test drove it, didn't like the engine response and it felt like I was driving a long car. End of 2011 XUV was launched, but booking opened in metros and I was based at small town, same time while reports about XUV were not pleasing. so I waited. I shifted to Gurgaon in Feb 2012, and in June 12 booking for XUV opened and I booked W6 model. waiting period was 16 weeks. October I also booked Duster, but there was waiting period of 4 to 5 months. I was following blogs and also checking with people who drove XUV and Duster and feedback was mixed. I was not fully convinced to go ahead with XUV and Duster, finally decided to cancel my booking and ended up paying 9000 rupees to Mahindra and Renault, and I thank both of them for this.
STORME was launched in October last week, I booked within two days of launch from Jammu, waited for a month but dealer couldn't confirm the deliver date. As I was based at Gurgaon I checked with Dhingra last week of November, sales person asked me to arrange money ASAP and take delivery in three days time. Finally I got delivery on 2nd December. I bought base model pearl white color, LX. Car has been running fine. I have covered 6000 km 80 days. I drove from Gurgaon-Udaipur-mount abu-ajmer - Gurgaon 750 kms in 5 days , and it was comfortable drive and fuel average on highway was 16 to 17km. I was not using AC. There were two problems I noticed, first was cabin noise and same was fixed in first service. second problem as centre locking buzzer switching on by itself and this problem also fixed after second service.
Both service dealer picked the car from my office and delivered back same day. I was not charged any money for first service and second service I paid rupees 225 only. I am satisfied with after sales service and also quality product which I got for 10.90 lacs on road. I spent 11k on seat covers and 3.3k on back bumper and 1.8k on foot mats. Its nice SUV and engine has lot of power and easy to drive in city with small turning radius and comfortable sitting position.
