Hello,

I was very much impressed by the looks of the new Tata Safari Dicor. I was abroad when I decided to buy a SUV and had shorlisted Safari Dicor. I had arranged a test drive from abroad and had it the next day I arrived back home. The service offered by the Pune based dealer, Pandit Atuo, was exllent so far. But all my excitement was shattered by the vehicle. I had read reviews and had done my homework. I was expecting poor finishing and was ready to compromise on the quality of the same, but it turned out more than that.

First the car turned up 2 hours late  than the promised time. The delarer did not even bother to inform me that he getting late. I started to chase him and he started to give all possible silly excuses - he is washing the car, too much traffic, he is lost... every possible excuse.....

As mentioned, I was in love with the Safari looks, all was forgiven when the car was standing outside my door.

The sad storey now begins...

The brand new Safari Dicor which I drove was making noise from every part in the cabin. It started from the steering, you turn the steering and you will hear a chirping sound - answer for this was Safari has hydrolic power steering... what crap.. anyways.... we continued the test drive, then the passengers (my wife and dad) started complaining about a terrible quirking noise from behind. Answer to this was the stepny cover was inside. We removed it and the noise became louder ... hahahaaa The authorised dealer in Pune did not have any answer to this. After the drive either he was so ashamed or was so fed up of my questions he immediately left.

As I had made my mind that I will buy a Safari, decided to give a benefit of doubt to the vehicle, and organised another test drive with another dealer (B U Bhandari). Hoping for a silent cabin, I asked the fellow to drive the car and I sat behind. This time the steering did not make any noise but the noise from the behind was so much that I could not resist myself and asked the fellow is this a used car???

First he tried to give me some excuses, negligible noise, stepny cover (AGAIN) and the classic TATA excuse - the car needs to be loaded (as if it's goods carrier) then noise will go. I was shocked by these excuses. The best offer was to buy a car, take it to his workshop, fit an extra bush for the suspensions and get it greesed regularly... what is this guys???  I felt like I am about a buy a leaking umbrella and the shopkeeper is now ready to repair it by applying home made glue...

It is really a shame that even if a customer is willing to pay 11.4 Lakhs, a silent car cabin can not be offered by Tata. It really is a shame that TATA is still thinking about farmers and truck drivers even if they are making SUVs for Urban market.

So guys at TATA, think about this, put in some effort and make Safari's cabin a very silent cabin and make it worth the price you are asking.
