Great job done with the Add!. Review on Tata Safari DiCOR 'Reclaim Your Life' commercial

I just got over with writing a review on the Bajaj Avenger - I feel like God commercial. And this one, I think falls in the same league as the Avenger add. Both are quite similar in the way they have been conceptualised. They both make me think about my life. When the cut's happen in the add, there is a similar cut happening in my mind when I go back and think about some darn incident in my life - and that is a pretty amazing thing. Again, both the add's dont really focus on the 'features' of the product but connects you at a whole new level which is much deeper. And again, just like the avenger commercial, there are no hot babes in stilletoes and short pink skirts to excite you. And to be honest, I dont think there was any need for em either.

The thing different about the safari add is that it fits in well with the other advertising efforts also. The 'reclaim your life' concept works real good with the fact that this is a product which is being relaunched. So a bit of connection there I feel. It is also not just a one-off good commercial, it's part of a bigger overall advertising caimpaign. There was a bit of mystery about the product created and then this add, it's all created a lot of curiosity amongst people, and I say that coz I see people around me talk about the safari with that kinda curiousity, like What's new about it? have you seen it? ...stuff like that....and generating this kinda curiousity is a big big achievement.

The next thing I'd like to see as part of the advertising caimpaign is to go ahead and talk a bit about whats new with the car now, people are already excited about it and would love to know more. Am not sure at this stage if that's gonna happen or not, but if the guy's at Tata Motor's are reading this and havent planned for it yet, they can say thanks to me at manishdhingra@email.com!
