I am a new subscriber of the TATA Sky DTH Satellite Television service and knew very little about its tactics to exploit or misguide its customers.

Firstly, the technician, who installed the Dish Antenna, told me the trial connection is free but later I have found his assurance of'trial service' was a lie, it was rather a forced credit service given to me by the Tata Sky.

However, since it is a pre-paid service connection, unlike post-paid connection and also according to the reasonability, the service must automatically be discontinued as soon as the post-paid amount is utilized but going against such reasonability, the Tata Sky probably feels that it is their right to act arbitrarily and continues in providing forced service credit even to the unwilling customers so that they can put him in liability and by doing so the company also compels him to pay another full payment of minimum Rs. 200 even if he does not wish to continue in using the service.

Besides that, if a customer wishes to downgrade a service package from an existing higher amounted package even then he can not do that easily till he settles said pre-existing(small amounted) forced credit given to him by a so called reputed company like the TATA SKY! All he needs to pay another full payment of minimum Rs. 200/- even if he does not wish to continue in using its service and desires to settle said liability on him forced by the Tata Sky!

One must realise that it is not viable for a customer to go to a consumer forum to gain justice against such unreasonability considering it is a small cause but the Tata Sky is using this tactics to gain from its customers unreasonably.

The Consumer Rights in India is still seems to be pathetic.
