Tata Sky DTH Service has been the talk of the town since the past few years. Although it has been getting both positive and negative reviews, let me clarify that I as a customer is quite satisfied with this service.
Firstly,this 24 hr DTH service has been known for crystal clear picture and sound clarity. This is quite evident in Plasma or LCD televisions. Once Tata Sky has been installled,no matter the brand or the make of the television, excellent picture clarity(if not the sound since it varies from television to television) would be received which would not be available through most cable operator services.
Secondly, Tata Sky gives a detailed description of all the shows on each and every of its channel more than 12 hrs ahead of the current time. It also classifies channels on the basis of categories such as Entertainment,Movies,Sports,News & Knowledge ,Kids,Music, Audio and Regional . You can even group your favourite channels in the 'Favourites' category.
Apart from this, live cricket matches are the best to watch since it provides the viewer with 3 different views of the field as well as the highlights. Tata Sky also offers schedules and timings of matches as well as their location. This feature is also available for news and few other channels.
Tata Sky is also reknown for the varieties of programs it offers for kids. Young kids can study and interact through quiz ,stories as well as interactive games . This is availbale on the 'ACTIVE' feature of Tata Sky .It is accessible by pressing the 'ACTIVE' button on the Tata Sky remote control and a list of categories available in it, for kids as well as grown ups would be displayed.
Tata Sky also offers the latest movies which can be viewed anytime until 12:00 a.m midnight. These movies can be viewed in the 'SHOWCASE' category. But, all 'SHOWCASE' channels need to be ordered specifically after installing Tata Sky.
You can also set reminders, parental control and operate on many other features provided by Tata Sky.It also provides updates and A/C status of the user periodically This is what makes it different from other satellite services.
One major disadvantage of Tata Sky is that it gets deeply affected by rain and often loses transmission when it rains heavily. This is one area which needs to be improved upon. On the whole, it is quite a good service and worth its cost. It lives up to its brand image and tagline which says "Isko laga dala toh life jhingalala".
