I used to think that all Tata group companies follow honest & ethical practices. This opinion has changed due to my experience with Tata Sky customer service. There is no transparency about service charges and you are charged the monthly subscription fee even when there is a service outage. Sometime ago, the Tata Sky service was down for a couple of months for many customers in Bangalore. I was told by their service folks that a software/firmware upgrade was causing outages for several DVR models. Customer care stopped taking calls for this issue and requested customers to give a missed call on some no and that they would get back. I gave a missed call on the specified number to log a complaint, but got a message after few days saying that my case is being closed as the issue is resolved. This happened a few times, and the service was finally restored after 2 months. Worst part was, I was also charged for the subscription during the two months even though Tata Sky team was having technical problems and was not providing service. I'm forced to give a one star rating, as there is no option to give a lesser rating.
