I am most displeased to say that today, rather than a proud Tata Sky customer that I was in the past, I'm turned into one of the most disgruntled customer by the abhorable service I had to witness through your customer care team.


I am most definitely going to take my grievance to consumer court if no constructive action is taken soon from your end. I feel cheated on principles and on my hard earned money, on top of which had to withstand a very questionable "Customer Service Manager".


My most recent interactions with Tata Sky had been post the revelation of a technicality because of which a customer (I) who never expected any misdoings from Tata Sky, who had always kept his account in credit, was unknowingly being overcharged for a service for god knows how long.


I have currently 3 installed set-top boxes from Tata Sky (Standard, Standard PVR and HD PVR). I have continuously taken up on your Annual HD Mega Pack offer which includes all channels (HD channels inclusive) except for Topper. As mentioned on your website the only difference between a standard annual mega pack and HD annual mega pack are the additional HD channels and thus a higher charge, and the basis of my selection criterion, as I had an HD PVR box.


Due to some unfathomable reason Tata Sky not only expects the customer to know by default of which of the existing boxes is assigned primary or secondary status (totally internal processing) and also the consequences thereof; but Tata Sky also lacks the basic internal systems and checks to automatically upgrade the most recent purchase of an advanced and most expensive equipment (from Tata Sky), the "HD PVR set-top box", the ONLY capable system (amongst the three) to telecast HD channels to be associated to an "HD Mega pack service". Go Figure! The HD Mega Pack is attached to a system incapable of showing HD channels, and thus leaving a way to milk out additional charges through Multi TV HD transactions.


The customer is being double charged for a service (HD channels) which is only available on one set-top box. The overcharge of "Multi TV (HD)" is unacceptable and illegal. I am paying for an Annual HD pack, I am neither informed nor involved in deciding which of the three boxes is made primary.


Thus I would only permit and authorise the deduction of "Standard Multi TV" charges and expect TATA SKY to refund all the additional costs I had to bear unknowingly over past years. As I said I always kept my account balance in credit apart from taking your Annual HD Mega pack and am shocked to find such monthly debits being done due to a failure of a system, a very unreasonable system put in place.


Mr. Tej Panchal who addressed himself as a Manager failed completely to grasp my anxiety and rather escalated my annoyance. The recording of the call would be self-sufficient to address the extreme mismanagement of a genuine customer complaint.
