Never Go For Nano. Infact Never Go For TATA Car. Buy once, repent for lifetime.. Worst Quality material has been used. Dealers & Company Officials are Cheat. Fraud at Every Step. Check before you buy, they tend to sell you old or used cars. Once you take it then you will not be entertained.

No After Sales Service. I have written about quality but that quality at 1.5 Lacs is acceptable but the fraud as mentioned below is the thing that has left me cheated. I have lost faith in Tata Group courtesy this incident. I bought it & I feel it was worst decision of my life. I wrote emails to higher management at TATA Motors:-

---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Ankur Goyal Date: Sun, Feb 6, 2011 at 3:52 PM Subject: Fwd: Service Issue - Ashok Kumar Goyal, Tata Nano To: rt@tatamotors.com, tata.tata@tata.com, rt@tata.com, srtt@tata.com, ratan.tata@tata.com, chairman@tata.com Cc: rk@tatamotors.com, debasis.ray@tatamotors.com, shikha.gupta@tatamotors.com, jalaj.gupta@tatamotors.com Mr. Ratan Tata I am writing an email to you for the first time and I do not know how to start. I would like to start this with a short description of the way my childhood (I would like to mention that what I am going to say must be true for most of the children in India) was shaped where I learnt to rRajeev_Vermact my family, elders, friends, my home, my country. All this was taught to us at school too. Apart from this, there was something else which I was neither told nor taught but I started admiring by just seeing things, it was the name TATA. From daily household utilities to everything around it seemed everything was TATA product and the thought was not limited to that it was a TATA product but the thought ruled our senses that it was our product.

I would not like to extend this further because I understand that you are a very busy man. INCIDENT This is with reference to the delivery of a Tata Nano that my father took a few days ago. Initially, he received a text from Tata Motors at the start of the year that the delivery of the car is under process. He then checked with the dealership the same day and they informed that it would take another one month for the delivery. He kept a regular follow-up after that and on the morning of January 27, 2010 he was informed that the delivery would take another 10-15 days.

On the evening of the same day, he was told that the car had come and he could take the delivery. Once he got the car, my father got it checked by an expert and he advised that the car was 1-2 months old. When checked in detail, he came to know that the model was a 2009 model and it was delivered in 2010. After this, my father contacted your dealership (Mehta Motors, Bathinda) person, Mr. Honey Arora (9814971909) but he behaved in a very rude manner. Also, he said that while we might do anything, the delivery had already happened and nothing could be done about this. DECISION OF THE HONOURABLE DISTRICT CONSUMER FORUM Here, I would like to mention that the district consumer forum had announced the verdict against us and we have already filed an appeal with the next higher authority. I would like to bring to your notice a couple of facts on the basis of which the verdict was announced (either the facts were mistakenly overlooked or they were portrayed by Mehta Motors in a way that these got missed):- Verdict announced was on the basis that all the information was given to the customtakeouter on the date of sale(29-01-2010) and the same was conveyed to the customtakeouter through sales certificate(written proof) - the fact that was overlooked was that how could have been the sales certificate that was itself dated 30-01-2010 could have been issued on 29-01-2010 conveying all information to the customtakeouter. This senses to me like some sort of a fraudulent intention already in the minds of Mehta Motors at the time of sale. Verdict announced also included that the car is not a small part or a toy that can be manufactured, assembled and delivered in the same month. I think that this must be better known to you that how many cars are actually delivered in the same month as they are manufactured and assembled. Still, I would like to mention a little fact that I have got details of a NANO Car that was Jan’10 manufactured and was delivered on the same day i.e. 29-01-2010. I have a few other proofs too related to this very fact, not just of TATA but also of other companies but I would not like to go into the details as you must be more aware of the same. Some more facts:- Messages were sent by TATA Motors (TD-TATAMOTR & AD-TML)to the registered mobile number( 92168-20324) of my father on 16-07-2010 & 05-08-2010(much after the delivery had actually been completed on 29-01-2010), stating that your car has arrived and you must rush for delivery. This brings another fact to the shore that this was the malicious intention of Mehta Motors and not TATA Motors. But, I would like to mention something here that TATA Motors is still equally involved. My allegation is not baseless when I say that TATA Motors is equally involved because TATA Motors has helped Mehta Motors by not providing the documents that my father had requested for. These documents involved:- List of merit for allotment and the list of allotments made. None of these were provided even after repeated requests. Moreover, I would like to mention here that you make a point and set an example for the whole country when you say that "you were asked for a bribe when you were to venture into aviation industry" or "you start campaign Jaago India" but I would like to know what sort of an example are you setting here by side lining from this case. My view on the whole incident & its implications I don’t think that any sane person would buy a 2009 model knowingly in 2010. I think your people just wanted to shed inventory and thus delivered an old car after mis-selling the same. And then, to support their wrongdoings, they offer outright lies to their customtakeouters. I am surprised to note that Tata can have such poor delivery systems and a few of the people there can be so low on ethics. It is shameful of them to stoop to such levels and fleece their customtakeouters. I’m rather happy that this incident happened at this time else I would have ended up buying a Tata Indigo Manza that I was earlier planning to and suffered in due course. Possible resolution(with your interference) I don’t think there would be any point in resolving the whole issue by getting the car replaced as the service levels during the ownership of the car would be equally pathetic if not worse. What I would now request you would be to return the booking amount with 12% per annum interest rate and take back the car. If you are not ok with this, I would still advise you to take back the car and use the money to teach your people some manners, service delivery etiquettes and ethics. I would like to mention in the end that if I do not receive a reply from your side then I would have no option other than to forward this email to my friends and post this story on twitter and facebook. I would never want to go forward with this with the rRajeev_Vermact I have for you but circumstances leave me no shoice. I have already filed a case with State Consumer Forum...
