I have driven my tata nano CX 3000 km in last 5 months and I am extremely satisfied with the car. Tata nano is great value for money.

I have already driven Santro for 2 years and a second hand ford ikon for 6 months.

When I went to buy a new car my requirements were:

  1. Purely city use

  2. Budget not more then 3 lakhs(extendable up to 25K)

  3. Must have AC/Heater and Power steering

  4. Zero maintenance

  5. Low running cost

So there were only two cars which were fitting into my criteria: Maruti Alto and Tata Nano.

All my friends recommended me Maruti Alto. Reason being: Maruti Brand, reputation of alto etc. So I went to take a test ride of Maruti Alto. I took 2 test drives of maruti alto with in a difference of two weeks. Things which I did now like in alto were – cramped space, Significant fall in pickup with AC switched on and interior quality

So I decided to take a test drive of Nano. Also went for 2 test rides within couple of weeks and decided to go for tata nano.

There was a price difference of 1 Lakh between top end model of Tata nano and Maruti alto, which was significant.

Things which I liked in Tata nao over Maruti Alto were

  1. Space inside the car

  2. Interior quality

  3. Getting in and out of car is easy

  4. Front Power windows

  5. No drop in engine performance with AC on unlike Alto

  6. Price difference 1 Lakh Rs

Things which I missed by buying nano was pwer steering but its not required in nano because of the light weight of the car.

During my last 5 months of exp with tata nano following are the procs and cons for this product

Pros:

  1. Space Inside

  2. Interior quality

  3. Fuel efficiency(I got 20 KM/L on my drive to Pune to Mumbai, in city I am getting 16 with AC on)

  4. Very effective AC(better then my expectations)

  5. Sitting position is comfortable

  6. Stability on sharp turns is good

Cons:

  1. Front suspension is very hard

  2. Small fuel tank

  3. No left hand side rear view mirror

  4. No Glove box

A lot of people discouraged me before buying tata nano but I am happy that I bought this car. I will recommend people to buy the car its gr8 value for money.
