My friends, this is my more than 2 year own driving experience with tata nano not a base less review / perception( like some of my reviewer friends who never drive this car) . I Have driven many cars like EON, centro, alto, swift, ritz, i10, i20, punto, Honda jazz, figo etc .all these cars are very good and comes with petrol n diesel engines . This is my 3ed car, I already have 2 cars Maruti Esteem and indica dicor.
we bought this car( our 3ed car) in Kanpur( worst city for infrastructure, worst road in India) on 1st Oct 2009 at on road 1.9 LX( top end - AC/Heater, Power window, power breaks etc) BS-iii compliance with+ 3 years extended warranty .
Note: Some Facts on tata Nano catches fire
I would like to inform you only 6 car has been reported to catch fire as of now( CNBC Awaaz) only 3 are genuine case Rest all rumor and part of corporate business conspiracy . Any ways tata’s are working on that by forensic investigation.
as we have seen in past many people died in Honda city, Maruti Alto, Wagnor few year back but still it best sellers and no one injuired in nano till the time but still so much hipe
Looks:** it is very catchy and gr8 road presence and very appealing & got many awards for that in all over the world.
Design:** gr8 design for city maneuverability, gr8 visibility(like figo and Honda Jazz).I drove it hundreds of kilometers in city and highway. it is best value for money city car . very airy inside and compact from out side . best height car for me( I m 6 feet) to get in & out WOW.
Space:** in my marriage ceremony event, I drove it with 6 people( 2 in co- passenger seat), and 7-8 people can sit in the cabin easily( just fold the back seat and put one thick cushion & use boot space for 2 people, so 2+ 3 back side, +2 in co passenger seat+ 1 driver= 5+2+1=8 people) already tested with my family members( I can challenge to any one) . it is gr8 goods carrier also as I used in my marriage by just folding the back seat .
Performance: city performance is excellent but mileage is near abt 14km/l at bumper to bumper traffic . in highway I tested this car my times between Kanpur to lucknow(23km/l to 31km/l [ with speed limit 45 to 65 km/h]) and also tested with more that 100 km/h and it was commendable . it has been drove 500 km in a day with AC and with 5 people and more that 45 degree centigrade in summer . Performance was gr8888888888. AC is excellent and better that lots of big car. Engine is very powerful . Please don’t see BHP feel the performance on ground .take your own experience, take test drive and feel it . Excellent engineering by tata .
Service:** now a days tata service is very very good . I have 2 tata cars . they changed the parts without any cost. Even coming to home for regular checkups . WOW TATA service.
Some cons and suggestions: we can see in Nano V2 or Plus*
> Fit and finish is very poor and parts are cheap( good also for maintenance/parts cost)
>No back door opening option(TATA Please provide in next model)
>No External fuel lid option like other cars(TATA Please provide in next model)
>increase the Fuel tank size at lease 25 liter( as maruti 800) [ By using co-passanger under seat space just like Honda Jazz ]
>No split back seat options 60:40(TATA Please provide in next model)
>No storage/glove box(TATA Please provide in next model)
>No left hand side rear view mirror(TATA Please provide in next model)
>No proper space between the
clutch, break, accelerator, problematic to use to with(TATA Please provide in next model)
> increase the Engine opening panel size - for easy maintenance mechanics are complaining a lot( problem can be solved by by providing back door opening option)
> proper space and location for car speakers
>Suspension can be improved( right now its bumpy)
>Remove cast Iron Engion and introduce Aluminum Engine
>Reduce and change Engine noise
>Battery can be installed outside by using internal driver seat space and airtight panel for maintenance .
>Remove cast Iron Engine and introduce Aluminum Engine to improve mileage and NVH level( Tata Nano coming with Aluminum Engine)
>Make more Beautiful External just like 9 nano was modified in aniversary campain in 2010( by adding front, side and back panel Skirt)
Steering mounted AC on off button( this will help to manage power Lag during AC running condition)
Note: please fit your speaker under the driver and co driver seat( I have used in 6’’ sony speaker boxes) and save back side storage space . check this out.*

This technologies with take place with just few simple and effective techniques like front drum break replace with disk break and vacant place occupied by Electric motor and both front wheel and one additional maintenance free battery installed under the co-passenger seat and one controller to maintain power and fuel consumption. During bumper to bumper traffic engine will off and car will pulled by electric motor and when ever battery is going to discharge, the engine will start to recharge it( like other cars) .
this hybrid technology will improve its fuel consumes and increase pickup of the car and on demand power supply solution .
