My old car - an Indica DLS was spacious ...but I simply need more space & was waiting for a Bigger Car that would be affordable !! Tata - it was who made that dream come true with the nicely designed - Indigo Marina. I always loved the idea of a Estate car or a station wagon . Sedans never impressed me - not even the Indigo.
Let me tell u here whats interests me in a Car !! -
No. 1 - Its the looks & looks only,
No.2 - Space (after all its a car yaar) ,
No.3 - Fuel Economy
Why Marina Then? -
- Looks - Unique!! It does cause heads to turn & commands attention .. It could be called a poor-mans Honda CR-V lf one adored the honda looks but couldnt afford one. Although initially I found the Rear looking a bit Out-of- balance & oversized I m loving the looks the more I see it. Btw my Marina is
Black . Black I feel (u may think it as strange) looks more Solid & gives it the close-to-High-end- SUVs looks compared to the lighter colors (just my opinion).
2.Space - The Best compared to any car I have been in . A limo could be the only close competition I believe :) But Seriously the LegRoom & overall space in the car is Excellent. You can accomodate 2-4 children/ adults in the boot space if you really need that much space.
3.Economy - Affordably Priced- SO easier to own. I hav Driven 1000 kms so far at an Average of 13.5 kmpl . Mine is a GLS Petrol version . My driving has been mix of City & Highway including one trip to Pune. Diesel is said to give better mileage. My driving is not more than about .. 10000 km per year ..so petrol was my obvious choice. The Drive is Smooth although the Gear Shift is not as smooth as I expected. Overall with the Super Design /Interiors & Features I dont think there is a better Value for Money Car in India !!
