The Tata Indigo Marina is the latest offering from the Tata stable and is amongst the first of its kind of utility vehicle to have been launched in India. The shortest way in which I could define the Tata Indigo Marina is '' Value for money.''

The vehicle has lot of space and a powerful 1.4 litre engine (petrol version) to carry the weight with ease. The vehicle body is sturdy as with the other Tata vehicles and the height of the vehicle makes driving it a pleasure. You feel a cut above the various hatchbacks when driving it.

The seating is comfortable, both front and rear with more legspace than in any other car in its class. The rear seats can be folded to create what is called a double bed boot for resting co-passengers in case of long journeys.

The enginedelivers a strong 85bhp of power and the airconditioning is state of the art with a powerful blower. The powerful engine ensures that airconditioner can be used even when driving on hilly and rough terrain.

The suspension is reliable and strong and takes the potholes in its go. The power steering is soft and enables easier turns and maneuvering. The vehicle is being produced in both petrol and diesel variants. I own a petrol GLS version and it gives the average mileage of 10kms per litre in city and over 14 kms on highways with AC.

Recently, I tested this vehicle by driving it continuously for 3500 kms over 10 days and it has proved itself to be a reliable and tough companion. The maximum speed at which I drove at times with ease was 120 kmph without any problem what so ever.

On the whole Tata Indigo Marina is a useful indigenous vehicle fit for Indian terrain and is good value for money. The utility of the Marina is doubtlessly important for those who wish to own a sedan like vehicle which has a huge storage capacity to enable us to''carry our world with us.''
