I got my Indigo XL Classic Dicor  from Manipal Motors Bangalore. Test drove it and was impressed. I have done 3500 kms  with it so far and I have not had any problems. When I first wanted to buy the indigo xl I read the general reviews on Tata Cars and was bit apprehensive. But all that disappeared when I started contacting the owners of the tata cars.  They had one thing to say in common. Very cheap to maintain and a very comfortable car. And now I definitely agree with them.

Power and Torque - very impressive. I was able to touch speeds of 120/ kmph on top gear with just under 2100 rpm. The torque at low speeds also was impressive given that this is a long car and hence the extra weight.

Gear shift - pleasantly surprised to find the gear shifting very smooth.

NVH - vibrations have been greatly reduced, but I still hear the diesel engine noise in the cabin.

The best part was that this car has a very good road grip making diesel car driving a smooth experience. Having had Santro as my first car, I could not even feel that I was driving a diesel car.

The interirors could have been better. I did not like the fake wood plastic interiors. Its biggest selling point is the leg room. Five of us drove all the way from Bangalore to Mangalore (360 km) and back and believe me no one was strained (thanks to the huge leg room). You get height adjustable seats and rear ac vents which makes you feel like in executive class. Hats off to Tata's  for building this car. The competetion has made Tata's think and yes, they have responded and have come a long way from the faulty indica days to compete with Japaneese/Korean auto giants like Suzuki Maruti and Hyundai. I paid just 6.91 lakhs (on road Bangalore) and I am satisfied customer. The car's worth its money period.

IF you want a true review of a car, always ask the owner.
