It was a usual Friday afternoon and I was driving back to office when a central government white Ambassador - Ka01 P 3912 rammed into my grey color Tata Indigo Lxi leaving a very badly damaged bumper, broken fog lamps, bent frame and broken headlights. I had the vehicle towed by Aadya motors who managed to further damage the car by smashing the side mirrors and the front right side fender.

I went to Aadya the next day saw the car and made a fuss about the broken mirror and damage to fender. From my previous visits, I knew the Gm, service - Mr. Anil Francis Noronha and told him about this. He heard me out and promised to look into the matter. As the procedure to claim insurance I filled out a claim form and when I asked for an estimate the works manager - Mr. Veerappa said he would call me with an estimate. I signed the claim form and asked Veerapa to take care of my vehicle. He said he would call

day 3 - no call from the motors and I waited till noon and gave them a call. They said the insurance surveyor had still not visited the place and he would update me once he visits. In the evening I call them again and they told me the insurance survey was made and they would cover insurance for the "entire vehicle". please note - no mention of any terms of depreciation was made here and no estimate given. I asked them to go ahead with the work and they said this would take about 2 - 3 days.

Day 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 - no call/ message nothing from Aadya motors. I give them a call and they say work is going on. I ask them how much the approx bill would be and they still dont have a clue and repeat the same thing they told me.

Day 9, 10, 11 - no call day 12 - I call them and they say the vehicle is ready and I can come and make a payment of half a lac of which I got 50% insurance cover. the remaining portion I will have to pay. what the fcuk - if these guys had given me the estimate I would have gone to my friends garage and got it done there

Day 13 - I visit the motors and tell them since I did not get any estimate for the vehicle repairs nor was there any written intimation/SMS for taking approval of starting work - why should I pay?? for this the body shop manager says its the works manager- Veerapa's mistake and they will penalize him with a fine of Rs. 2500/- but I will have to pay the rest of the amount. I denied...we argued and I said no point talking to these jokers...let me go to the headman.

I drove to the head office and found the headman , Mr. Sanjay M standing in the works bay. I walked up introduced myself and he recognized me from my previous visits to Aadya. I told him what had happened and how I dint get an estimate. His instant reaction - " you are a customer and welcome to take me for a ride, and when I told him his managers had agreed to their mistake and I wish I had recorded the conversation, he said please carry a spy cam, etc and you should record everything cause you are a customer and you are taking us for a ride. I told him it was the opposite for which he got very angry and started to raise his voice and lost it. he asked me to go and sort it our with his manager and not waste his time. By this time I had asked my BIL to come around. Both of us walked into his office and he started asking my BIL who he was and did not want to talk to him since he was not his customer. Sanjay had gotten very reactive by this time and I too had spent 6 hours until now in this stoopid Aadya office. I lost it too and I raised my tone higher then Sanjay and told him we were missing the point of they not taking my permission to repair my car and I will not pay for this. I might pay 5k and thts it. He again said go and sort it out with the works guys.i said he was tata motors and we had a disagreement and he should step in. He called his mgrs there and those guys agreed to settle for 10 k after wasting another hour.

We were asked to make a payment at the workshop and we agreed and went there. this guy followed after half an hour and must have gotten a lesson in cs by his boss Sanjay. He came and asked me for my credit card. I removed it and reconfirmed the amount of 10k but he said he was swiping 18 k . Jackarse I thought and all the effort at the corporate office in vain. Bloody hell...into the same loop again and again....argued for another hour but no point.

tired with glucose levels dropping in my blood cause of no lunch...i gave my credit card to him and also told him he should take of all the idols of god he had in his office and stop applying vibhioothi in b/w his forehead - cause by doing this one  would not turn spiritual. what he had done was highly highly unacceptable...going against his word, cheating people off their money seems to be another day in his line of work.

when bills is analyzed there is a discrepancy of about 20 k and we dont know how they arrived at a figure of 50k. after all how would you justify 10 k for painting a bumper, 5k for welding and another 5k miscellaneous???

My two cents on this experience - Be very careful before buying anything from Aadya motors - best to avoid,

Never claim insurance from them - better to get repair work done from a local reputed garage

Even if you have landed there and getting insurance from them, get the estimate in writing duly signed by the GM of service.

I do not recommend Aadya Motors at all
