Tataindicom broadband

I am an unfortunate customer of tataindicom broadband at chennai. This connection loses connectivity every 4 weeks or so. Then an ordeal of calling up thier customer care starts. They give you a complaint number. nothing happens you call after a day or two they tell you work is in progress and that someone will call up. They will ask you for your available timings.


Nothing happens. I have called 10 times in the past week and no one has called me up till now. They give standard stereotye answers that someone will call up within an hour and they read out your number to you to confirm. The nodal officer is one Mr.Shankar (so the web site says). That phone was switched off or busy for 3 days in a row. The form for lodging a complaint with the appellate authority does not appear and it says page cannot be displayed.


However you can send them a mail. Finally today the nodal officer's phone was answered by a lady called sandhya. She said that the nodal officer was not in today. she said that my connection ill be repaired within 2 to 3 hours today. Today is the eighth day after I lodged my complaint. I have been through this ordeal several times. I need to use the net on a daily basis. That is why I have net connections at home and my office. I am put to great hardship. Now will tata compensate me for thier incompetence and negligence?


In my opinion they have no competence or expertise to be an internet service provider. I have read that tata communications plans to enter africa. India's image is now growing in the international arena. Tata will do much damage to this image if they are permitted to operate outside India. The only good product that TATA has brought out to my knowledge is the Tata shampoo and maybe the trucks and buses (I am not too sure). They should stick to that and not foray into fields that they cannot handle.


I have asked BSNL to install a connection in my residence.


If you want an uninterrupted broadband connection then Tataindicom broadband (VSNL) is NOT the choice.Stay away from all thier products and services. all of them Plug 2 surf, sierra, estate, Indica, Indicom, Safari, Sumo, insurance have had bad bad reviews.

After I posted my review a man called up from tata indicom broadband. I asked him why he had taken the trouble to call up. I said that maybe even the PMO would have responded earlier for the sort of followup I made. He said that the local engineer informed him that I was not at home for the past few days. I told him that exactly in the past few days I was sick and was available at home all the time and that I was already irritated and he should avoid making excuses and start addressing the connectivity issue if he did not want to hear any vulgar language. I asked him the name and phone number of the engineer who told him this he said that the name was shiva and that he did not have his phone number. I told him that he was lying. Anyhow, the next day one seedy looking guy came and did something and my connection is working now (touch wood). I am now dreading the `tata indicom monthly disconnection'. When it works it works quite fast. (that is if it works at all).
