Friends I'm using Tata indicom walky for past one year and for last 4 months I am using it especially for internet, my model is lsp 350T (that also initially they gave me a stupid phone with no illumination 340e, they changed this phone after lot of complaints to different office and waiting for 1and half month) and now iam fed up with it. Now I am planning to return it once I get my bsnl broad band connection.
- my first problem is the speed, you can click on a link and have a cup of tea nad snacks while the page loads. the simple page google takes more than one minute to load except after 2200 hrs to morning 0700hrs.(during this time speed is some what acceptable) never will u get their promised speed of 115kbps.
Most of the time it will be fluctuating between 0kbps to 8kbps (note the b here is for bits not byte) that means most of the time your average speed will be 2 -4 kbps. the most interseting part is the price they charging for internet ie 40ps / min that is 24 rs per hour.
Which is BSNL used to charge on year 2000 for dial up. now tata is charging same for that old speed.(bsnl provides now netone connection free of charge, it costs only 6rs per hour ie dialing cost to 172222 bsnl dialup and tata wireless speed is almost same)
- one of my friends gone to deposit tata walky and retention cell told him they will give him 150 calls free instead of 50 calls (we all were in same plan 180 plan) so my second friend complined tata office asking how can they give waiver to just someone in a plan. so they said you have to submit a form and if you submit the form you will also get the same.
I'm Back again. Friends I returned my walky. I too got the same offers that is 250 calls free for monthly rental of 130rs. First of all I felt it would be a cheating to other fellow customers and secondly i'm happy with my new BSNL lan line and Extremely happy with Bsnl broadband so I said NO
- you will keep on getting unwanted calls even after registering to DND registry. I 'm dead sure i'll also be getting some excited offer when deposit back my phone
I will never recommend a tata walky for internet, It is good as a land line. but a waste for internet. because you will have to spend more time on internet due to lack of speed and they charges on time, of which most of the part you spend waiting. My average bill used to be 750 and I think bsnl combo will save me
