While selecting the broadband connection for my home, I had checked MS for user experience and had decided Tata Indicom is not the one to go for based on so many negative reviews.
However as things turned out, the others couldn't provide the connection for various reasons and I had to land up with Tata again.
The experience however was entirely different.
Firstly the salesperson made house visit to fully explain the various options, benefits of each and check my usage pattern to suggest the best one for the same.
Once the same was selected and the order placed with the payment, to my surprise within next 3 days we got the wiring technician truning up who did a neat job of routing the cable without making the room look like an ovesized drying chamber.
The next day the technician turned up exactly at 11 as promised(another surpise), and configured the router, provided basic training as required, tested the connection, download speeds etc and went off after getting the installation report.
A couple of weeks back the connection went down and I expected the worst fearss to comtrue and I'd end spending the rest of my life to get it working but to my surprise again, I logged the call at the given teleophone no. and was assured that the technician will turn up the next day by 11.
Lo and behold, he actually did turn up and found the modem was faulty.
Surprise of surpise, he didn;t tell me he'll get one later and replce, he actually pulled one out of his bag and changed it there and then.
By now I was thoroughly floored.
The week after that the connection went down again and the very next day the technician came but this time some cable had been cut. The cabling guys turned up the next day morning and it was fixed pronto.
While I could always expect an even better service but having experienced many service providers, this has been definitely the best so far.
