I wish to share my agonizing experience with Tata Broadband (Bangalore). Cursed be the day, I decided to install Tata Broadband (Wimax) in my Bangalore rented house, because even after disconnecting it.
I am still suffering! Trouble started right from the time of installation. In frustration I disconnected, and even after disconnection I am being haunted. Apart from the technical difficulties, what is appalling is the response of Tata in solving my problems.
Here is the latest problem. I disconnected Tata Wimax connection and opted for Reliance Wimax connection. I then requested Tata Broadband on numerous occasions to refund my deposit money and collect their equipment which was dismantled and kept inside my house.
One fine day (19 Dec 2008), to my utter disbelief, the Reliance equipment went missing from the terrace. The remaining equipment (PoE Box cables etc but from Reliance) were forcefully removed from the 1st floor window. The PoE box was connected to the UPS.
Such was the carelessness and the amount of force used by the perpetrator, that my PC speaker had tumbled down and my heavy UPS dragged about a meter and came to rest on my speaker; just by pulling the cable on the other side through the window!!
Isn't this a daring act of robbery? I was not at all informed about the visit. I can only imagine what would have happened if the cable been connected to my laptop. Inspite of so many complaints (8159062, 8238188) and emails/calls, Tata is yet to return the Reliance equipment, even though it is more than 3 weeks. The Tata equipment is still lying in my house!!
They only sent stereotyped emails assuring that somebody would call, but no calls as yet. Even email to the nodal officer fell on deaf years. The contact number of the nodal officer has been switched off!! Apart from my online business which has suffered, this event has left me shattered and has been very traumatic. How can one of India's premiere household name be so careless, reckless and highly unprofessional?
