The destiny of Tata Indicom lies in the hands of Unprofessional Dealers/Associates...Tata is one of the best known name in the business world not only in India but also across the globe. It has become the name of trust and reliability for every Indian due to its successful business profile and brand. And its worth to say that we all must be using either of their products in our daily life, whether it will be in our sweet home, office or even on the streets.


But here I would like to throw some light on one of their service which become a nightmare for us and that is Tata Indicom Broadband Connection through Tata Communications. Tata is getting lot many curses for their lousy Tata Indicom broad band services just beacuse of the unprofessinal dealers or direct associates.


We have shifted to Indore in Nov, 07 from Ahmedabad. we want broadband connection at our home as early as possible so we started collecting details for the same. We have got the details of Airtel broadband connection before but we were bound to have the Tata Indicom connection as per our company policies.


We have done search for their Indore office and rush to them, dicussed all the details with the marketing executive and he assured us many good things along with our connection will be installed within 2-3 days of the application and to fasten the application process we have deposited the desired amount in cash just to avoid the period of 3-4 days in clearing of the cheque...


We should be alarmed right from the time of application for the broad band connection when they behaved so unprofessionally for installing the connection at our home. They took 10 days to install the connection after so many calls to the customer care, technicians and the marketing executive (who left the job just after our meeting but didn't tell me). They become active only after my personal visit to their office on 10th day of our application. They told me that the connection line has been laid upto my home (through the private contractor), and they just need to send their technician to start the connection. Their executive didn't have a vehicle with him so he will come next day. But I asked him to come on my vehicle to install the connection. I have to help him in all the way for getting a connection. And finally with so many efforts our connection got started in the night around half past ten.


We have applied for the connection as we need consistent connection for the whole day for our work. My wife is doing as a home based employee for a US based MNC and she has to be online all the day for her work. And I also need to be online in the evening time to be in direct touch with my colleagues and clients.


The initial days of connection were just fine. We got only few problems in connection during initial 4-5 months period which really didn't affect much to us. Even we started feeling lucky to have such connection after reading so many bad (rather worst) reviews online (also on MS) for Tata Indicom.


One more stupid issue with Tata Indicom that they do not send monthly bill to you. You will only get your bills online. And their collection executive call you only once on the last date of bill payment. And if you miss to pay your bill to them you have to personally visit their only office to pay your bill. (I don't prefer skypacks) Then we started paying online through CC. Also they charge you in advance for their monthly connection.


Our bad time started after 4-5 months when our connection generally go down for a day or two. It mostly happen during the week ends when I have some extra work load. I have to go to office on week ends for my important work which I had planned to do in my sweet home.


We use to call the local technical person at the time of any problem but after lodging a formal complaint to the call center. The call center executive told us for 24 hours time to resolve the problem but we ask the local technician to take care of the problem anyhow. And he sometimes resolved the issue very promptly but many a times he donot pick our calls as he must have saved our numbers. I had some hard talk with him as I already having lots of problems due to their stupid connection.


They have tested my patience many a times and the time came when I was really very angry with their stupid service. Our connection had very different kind of problem, it started working only for few hours of the day. It get started around 10:00-10:30 AM and stop working after 6:30-7:00 PM. It continuously happen for 6-7 days and we have complained this issue at least twice a day but no real solution...


I have also mailed my complaint to their Nodal Officer of Central region regarding inconsistency in our Broad Connection and got his auto generated reply that we have forwarded your complaint to the concerned department. But I didn't get any response from them even after 10 ten days.


We had Tata Indicom Broadband connection for 8 months but then after so many issues we have applied for the disconnection. They don't have any specific format for disconnection formalities, they ask us to write an application on a plain paper with a carbon paper for a duplicate copy (like govt offices) and handed the duplicate copy to us for our record. They informed us that it will take around 2 months for the whole process and we wil get back our deposit through a cheque at our home. Its already two months and we didn't get any information from them even after calling to their customer care. Our disconnection is still in process. And height of unprofessionalism and stupidity is that nobody came to my home in this period of two months to disconnect their router from my PC and takeback their instruments & wiring from my home.


I was not at all satisfied with the service provided by Tata Indicom, didn't get the service as per the assurance given to me at the time of application. There was a regular problem of disconnection in our connection. We have faced lot of problems due to the unavailability of the connection. Also we were not satisfied with the response of the Customer Service Centre. We have dicussed this issue with some of our friends and relatives and got the same response from them. They were also not happy with their service.


We discussed the issues with our company and they approved for Airtel broadband connection. After saying bye bye to TATA now we have Airtel connection since around two months and there is hardly any disconnection.
