I cancelled my Tata Indicom vData card in the month of August 2009. At the time, being a well-behaved customer, I clear my outstanding payment in full.
I submitted my cancellation application to the Tata Indicom Store personnel at Flora Fountain, Near Akbarally's, Mumbai, Fort. The personnel entered the request in the computer in my presence and assured me that my connection will be cancelled within 3 working days.
But after one month, I get a call from Tata Indicom billing department that my vData card bill is overdue and that I need to make the payment with late fees charges.
It has been now 2 months and I am being harrassed by the Tata indicom customer service personnel. Their claim is that they do not have any such request in their system and thus I am liable to pay up the amount that has now grown to 2 month's billing with late fees.
I had already made a bad decision of buying the vData card in the first place as it did not offer me the promised speed and connectivity. And now I am being harrassed by the company for not paying bills which I have not even incurred. I am pained to realise that a company with such a big name has such lousy processes and such irresponsible people.
I suggest people should consider other operators before buying Tata Indicom services as they are better and more customer friendly than Tata.
