FACE THE FACTS:
Rs.330 recharge voucher with a talk time of Rs.300/-
Balance can be carried over to the next recharge.
3 paisa per second for local calls, and 5 paisa for STD calls.
per second tariff and simple.
Who are the other cellular operators who has guts to offer the above for prepaid?Only TATA INDICOM it seems.
Lets talk about quality and network.
Since it is a CDMA technology, sound/voice is crystal clear.
But the biggest drawback is perhaps network. It seems to have poor network inside the building, but it is tolerable considering their talktime offer and persecond tariff offer. Also the simplicity in tariff cannot be ignored......one does not have to bother about the distance slabs and all those complicated tariffs.
I am sure TATA are taking efforts to improve their networks. With this they will obviously change the market scenario, and perhaps other cellular operators may come up with a similar offer.
Handset options are few, but this I am sure they will emerge with more choice.
Customer care executives are ok, nothing to hum about. They are polite, but understandably seems to lack experience like Airtel. This perhaps will improve with time.
One can call the TATA Indicom cell nos from any telephone/cellphone except Reliance. No idea why.But I have been able to call Reliance no. from the Tata Indicom cell.
Reputation of TATA are too strong to write them off easily. At the moment their offer is simply irressitible, so all the drawbacks at the moment can be perhaps overlooked.
This review is of my view of TATA Indicom service from Kolkata.
