I am the unfortunate consumer having a Tata Indicom USB Modem Vdata card. Let me summarize the features of this unique product :
1) Lousy network coverage 2) Extremely slow 3) User unfriendly4) Extremely rude and unfriendly customer service
Let me give you an example of point 4.
My V-data card bill of Rs 300/- was posted by courier - or at least so the call-centre executive of this great Tata venture claimed. The same never reached us. When we got a phone call from them, we apologized and promised them that the same will be paid in next 2-3 days as we do not have a Tata Indicom office in our locality and will have to go to another locality. Despite this assurance, within the next 24 hours, my wife got 18 phone calls (18 - honestly - am not joking) asking for money. Despite my wife giving them my number and requesting them to call me, they insisted on maintaining this follow up with my wife.
This is just an example. Most of my dealings with the curious Tata enterprise has resulted in even more painful experiences. I, infact had a Tata Walky and a Tata V-data card connection which I had surrendered (and - as usual, we got 7 phone calls to explain why we want to surrender our connection!!). This was the last connection which we had continued with and now I will be surrendering the same also.
So my unsuspecting friends, brothers, countrymen - please stay away from Tata Indicom. Even if you get some wonderful offer from them, please run away as fast as you can.
