TATA INDICOM Sucks big-time!

Hello MSians!


Every person reading this page will agree that Tata Indicom sucks! If not now then surely by the time you reach the end. I am a student and got my first cell on my 16th birthday. My parents gave me the option of having any service and any brand mobile.


I thought a Nokia 2100 with Orange would be perfect. But as the luck would have it...this uncle of mine was impressed with TATA and trusted its brand name and finally I ended up a Nokia 3585 (which also sucks!).


The story just begins from now on..I got my handset 1 week late due to some switch problem as reported by so called customer friendly service out there. Then came the first bill and I was totally surprised. The difference between my usage and the amount charged was HUGE! I just couldnt believe it was mine. I put on my Sherlock Holmes hat and probed into the matter. The first clue was that the number printed on my bill was not mine.


So I called up those morons who said that it was a printing mistake and asked me to pay bill promptly to avoid disconnection. Second clue was that I had STD calls listed on my bill when I had never even subscribed for that service. Nevertheless I paid. But then the water was rising above my head.. so finally I called up the number which was wrongly listed into the bill. That guy was adamant and on further inquiring I found out tht he made those STD calls and it was his bill! He totally refused to acknowlegde this because he wasnt getting any bill. More over the irony of the situation was that this guy himself was associated with TATA Indicom as a dealer! and these people boast of their service !


Numerous faxes, calls and complaint letters yielded nothing for weeks. Then finally I went to the place from where I got the phone and that guy promised 'to look into the matter'. Finally the above problem was solved only leading to a second one. Now by TATA's grace I started getting TWO bills on my account: one mine and other one of that wrongly listed number. Frustration increased n there was no way that I could even get rid of this phone for next 3 years:(. I got the number of their public relations guy and called him to tell him that I will sue them in the Customer's Grievence Court for the inconvenice and the elapses in the services. And I took a decision of not paying at all untill the matter gets solved. I didnt pay for almost 7 months so imagine the time it took for those morons to 'look into the matter'. One a Tata guy came to my residence demanding to pay the bills and I told him to F@ O.


So finally the matter was resolved and I started getting my own bill but the gruelsome service meted out to the customers will only lead to distrust in the brand name TATA.


So moral of the story ....TATA Sucks!
