Guys, Never go for Tata Indicom. They have the worst support ever.


I signed up for a 64kbps unlimited plan of Tata Indicom on Feb 2006. Till March everything was okay. There were some minor issues with the connectivity but it was good while it was there. Sometime in March, teh connection went and this issue is yet to be resolved. Calling the customer care became one of my habits during this time. Some point of time during this, the customer care person told me that they were doing some maintenance work in my locality and there was a major disruption of service and that it would take one week to resolve the issue. When I got the same reply two weeks later I decided enough was enough. Frustrated with the customer support that I was getting, I disconnected my service.


Since there was no other service provider in my area, I had to swallow my pride and ask these guys to reconnect my broad band connection. This was during the first week of May. I had cleared all my pending dues and requested for a reconnection. This took 5 working days and around 10 calls to the customer care. I was hoping that the "major disruption" that they were talking about would have got resolved. Once it was reconnected, I had to raise another complaint for no link available. That was on 18th of may. Till date the issue has not been resolved. Frustrated, I told them that I do not wish to see the issue resloved, but atleast tell me when this issue would be resolved. Guess they have better customers to serve as I all I got was some empty promises in return.


Now they have sent me the bill for the current month (for a service which was not available for like 3 months) and expects me to pay up. Finally I have decided to terminate the connection. (Hopefully, I will not have to write another review for that :( )


One issue that I have noticed with their customer care is that it's just a front end. These guys do not have any control over the proceedings, in the sense that all they do is coallate the information and pass it over to the concerned department like for eg: link issues are passed over to the technical department and billing issues are sent to the billing department. These other departments are in no way answerable to the customer care and can take their sweet time to address any issues. Poor customer care fellows, they have to suffer the wrath of all the angry customers. Feel sorry for them. Really I do :(.
