An internet connection is a lifeline to me since I work from home and my work mandates a good connectivity both in terms of speed and reliability. It is therefore due to this reason that I decided to go for a wired broadband and not a wireless/wimax etc.
The only option that was available in Pimple Saudagar was Tata Indicom or Tata Docomo( I still don't understand the branding difference as my bill says Docomo but the connection forms say Indicom). I took this connection despite its high installation charges and from then on it has been a disaster ride.
The connection breaks of every 45 minutes for a period of 5 minutes. I logged into the ADSL router and realized that the router does not get an IP address for that 5 minute period. From 6PM to 11 PM every day there is minimal connectivity and the 5 minute outage increases to 20 minutes every 45 minutes. The connection that I took was DS 346 New ADSL 758 kbps for which I pay Rs 990 every month including taxes.
From a support perspective I gave up on the support help desk a long time back. The complaints got registered but no one ever ended up at my residence to verify or rectify the problem. Since then I have graduated to chasing the local engineer who after multiple discussions told me about the lack of necessary infrastructure in this locality. After that I post graduated to calling up the Area Manager who has not been of much help either.
My misery continues and as a back up I have bought a Reliance Data Card(the misery of which is another story). But fortunately both of them do not have outage at the same time.
