Took a test drive of the vista quadrajet aura model today, and below is my 12 point observation and my 2 cents review.
Engine is very refined, better refinement than swift.
Even though it weighs about 200kgs more than swift, acceleration is still very good. compared to other fiat common rail diesel engine run cars. The extra weight helps vista to keep it planted to road better than swift.
Handles very well over rough roads, much better that what swift does. Infact you cannot compare both in this regard. indica is in a different zone here.
Space is very good comparable to getz and also has the best in class lumbar support making for comfortable seats.
AC is very good, chills within no time, and no distinguishable drop in pickup due to AC.
Steering is good, but can be changed a little for higher speeds. responds too much at higher speeds.
Gear shift is good, but not upto the mark of swift or getz lacks something that is still needs, (infact feels like something is holding).
Interiors are good but still you feel it lacks something . you can say it is not up hynudai i10(even though it is in a segment below I feel this as the bench mark for other cars since it is better than all other cars in indica vista/swift segment).
Driver seat height adjustment is a very good option, along with the back wiper automatically starting in reverse gear(if the front wiper is switched on). Audio system though I feel is not upto the standard
Exterior Panel gaps(door shut lines) are still not upto the swift/getz standards, there are some gaps to be seen which you don't expect at this level., but the gaps are less that earlier model and more even now.
The door closed with a nice thud, but i am still not convinsed that it is as good as seen first, felt that the rubber beeding used was below standard and rest all was very good).
The dealer promised fuel consumtion of 18 in city and 23 in highway, it looks a little bit exhagerated, reduce 2-3 kms /liter and it is still a great deal.
-bonus point - sorry just forgot to mention this point earlier so I am writing now.
13.Breaks of the vista does not inspire that much confidence as needed, but as you drive you feel comfortable.but I would still advise to wait for the ABS model promised in nov for export market and then buy it.
Now the verdict:
Overall I would say it is huge improvement over the older version, but there are still some short commings, The vechile is a steal for the price it is being offered and I would advise to go for it with recomendation for extra fittiings like ABS and alloys to impove its control on road.
