I just bought Tata indica in march 2003 from Sanya motors Delhi and it is a vehicle which is plain useless and from the day one I am spending more time at workshop than at my office. First the basic flaws in the car :
the fuel gauge is faulty .. u will never know the amount of diesal in your car as this gauge is not electronic and on bends the needle can go either way from showing you 0 to half tank full.
tha AC -- the DLE & DLS model dont have car heater in them .. a must if you live in north india. only DLX model has it .. ..
now the car I bought has no faom on the AC panel inside so all the fumes gases leak into the car. The water tank for wipers leak. the doors make noise and hand brake sensors light on and off on their own. The car is good on the miles front but that is it .. really bad finish .. very uncooperative and hostile staff who first deny any happening of problem and then do a shabby job on it. the wire of the horn got broken within 45 days !!!! and was fixed by a local boy. When I ased the dealer to put the right component, he proudly told me that local mechanic has done a great job and then do a ot shadier job so I shall e happy that local mechanic fixed the problem. all this happening when I am an ex Telco and know a couple of people, I just wonder what fate the ordinary indica owners will be suffering...
in the nutshell buy this car only if you intend to run a Taxi .. as it is a some advanced version of ambassdor.. nothing less nothing more
