In December 2006 I bought Indica Xeta GVG - 1200CC, Body coloured bumper, AC, Power steering, front power windows, rear demister, light in the boot, beige colored interiors.
Reason to close on Indica were - Maruthi's cars looked like plastic toys except Swift which was way too costly. Santro could offer same features but is less spacious and cost Rs.60000 more. Palio - no mileage and difficult to maneuver in cities. So Xeta it was. I wanted to go for the higher end GLX model. But 1400cc would mean lesser mileage. Hence stuck to GVG.
Has been almost 10 months. I get an average of about 13-14 inside the city and upto 17 on highways (without AC). Upto 2000km I used to get only about 11.
GVG could have had all power windows instead of just front windows. The A frame sometimes obstructs vision. The positioning of the driver seat blinds bonnet and hence drivers need to be careful till you get used to the length.Unlike Alto or Santro, Xeta is very spacious and easily accommodates 3 people in the backseat and 4 with some uncomfort. Engine is slightly noisy as compared to its competitors but it is very smooth.
I got a cash discount of Rs.25000.
If you want a spacious, powerful and economical vehicle - go for Xeta
