After 3 years
KM completed: 26000avg. with AC: 11-12 km/Lchanges: 2 tubes, water filter (two parts in two services)
After running this vehicle for 3 years I see following points:
- running cost is high as every so call non-free service cost you 5k-6k. (every time these ppl. change some small part or the other). I started going to malik motors and their service is better than concord (though not that gr8).- crackling noise goes away for few days after oil filter is changed. then again comes back.- on AC car aways runs heavy.- shockers have hardened.. probably need treatment. (and I don't trust service ppl. if they can do it!)- Black colored plastic having AC knob has developed cracks at 4 places. on inquiring at service center, they said quality of this part is not gr8.
In these 3 years dealers haven't changed their attitude. they still have poor service quality. ( I wonder how Nano will survive!)recently I had to separately get power steering oil added to car as service guys never paid heed to it's level (was less than 1/2)
I am not sure if I can really recommend this car for long term with high running cost.It is better to go for a better quality product initially rather than paying more in the end (with addition to physical and mental stress).
Old reviewI bought Indica Xeta GLS 1.4L in Sept 2006 from Autofin-Hyderabad.
We bought it seeing 1.4L engine + space + interior + price.
Since then the days have been bad as well as good.
Bad in terms of whenever we have to deal with dealer or service station.
Initially there were some problems like startup & crackling noise when AC is on(1st & 2nd gear)
Autofin replaced microchip and also some engine part.
Still crackling noise was there...which couldn't be solved by dealer.
after 1st service car the noise suddenly went up and hence I showed it to dealer once again.
it reduced a bit, he replaced car belt.
after 2nd service to my surprise the sound went off (guess the problem was with oil or filter kind as oil filter was replaced in 2nd service). I realised that the ppl. sitting in workshop are clueless about the technology or product. They just do trial & eror & change parts.
I got services done from Concord. Telling you truely tata motor dealers are useless. They couldn't catch the problem and even went to the extent of saying that tata motors petrol cars has problem!!
Power stearing & brakes are not up to the mark. even after repeated request to service station, they have not bothered about the problem.
Even Tata motors service from pune is pathetic. They regularly called me for problems that I am facing but did nothing.Guess Tata is not looking at providing quality service as it is the main part of customer-to-TATA relation.
Till date the car performance is OK, sometimes (not always) it runs quite heavy when AC is ON with poor acceleration and jerky drive. interior plastic is quite poor quality but can't expect more from 3.3lacs.
Previously I used to get Avg of 11-12 with AC. (before 1st service)
After 1st I got 12-13 with AC and even touched 14 once.
After 2nd service , Now I am getting somewhere between 12-13 (with AC).
I see noise has gone up but ride is smooth. shockers are really gud when compared in same segment.
I still feel that for this price range this is a good buy. spl for those who think of buying maruti 800/alto so would recommend. A still better car will be Wagon-R( this is my personal view.)
But if you give weight-age to service then a BIG NO.
As far as I am concerned, overall I am pretty satisfied with car but Dealers & service station really sucks.I say this based on the service provided by autofin & concord ONLY.
