Tata's latest offreing Indiaca V2 Turbo diesel engine is proving to be old wine in New bottle.
We have been promised a smooth riding in combination with petro mileage, but its all foos.. within 3 months.
i usually like big cars , and generally go on long drives say over 600 kms in a month for 3-4ays.
this time, i have been advised to use indica V2 the real sturdy desi car . I got indica V2 diesel Turbo 3 months back exactly . I drove it around 4500 kms in 3 months and beilive you me my credit card bill for the fuel is over 8000/- ie @33 Rs per liter diesel I have poured 250 lts of diesel. . As promisied by the dealer & the car my turbo indica should be flew on an average 18-20 kmpl in a/c but it drove me 18 kmpl in non a/c so you can imagine in a/c what mileage I have been got.
look wise it does not look very appealing, you have always a feeling of driving a taxi, for rear seat its pleasure riding with spacious leg room.
Turbo engine is quite helpful in reducing noise polution one has to face while driving desi diesel vehicles. Power steering is not as smooth as other cars in this category.
Switches and hinges, a/c vents are not of that standard.
The all inside interiors are pathetic with all plastic look.
Side mirror is too fatty and alway causes of scractch to others.
Exterior look is quite ok, colours are very elegant but one does not have much choice to choose from. storage is huge one can take bunddle of loads in storage space.
in sum up if you are looking at a sturdy hatch back with a feeling of driving some thing big its a an ideal. dont go with mileage comparison, it does not pay always...........................
