Havent used tata docomo, however my post ks regarding  my experience to take a Tata Docomo Sim card Post paid. They had a great scheme in which there is a fixed charge for unlimited local and STD calls. I had opted for that when I moved into bangalore.


While appling for that I had to pay a deposit amount in cheque which was encashed immidiatly however my sim was not avtivated.


After many calls to customer service they gave me different answers.will be activated shortly.we dont have any information etc etc.


Then suddenly they told that my application was disqualified apparently due to reference check. I dont know how!


I requested that to do it again however they said its a parmenent block and I will have to reapply.


I was absolutely taken aback by my experience by that time, hence asked about the deposit amount.


They now told me that the deposit will be refunded to me by cheque in 90 days!


This company encashes the cheque immidiatly even before the verification and says that they will do the refund in 90 days! Secondly,  as per their policy they will send the cheque to my address, the same address which according to them disqualified me for the connection!


Anyway, I didn't have any choice so decided to wait. After about 4 months there was no sign of any cheque, I began to follow- up again. After repetedly calling to their customer care and writting numerous emails I at last gone a cheques. But to my big surprize my fathers name was written as my middle name - where as I dont have any middle name at all! On calling again, they said that must be how I have written in my application form, however that is not possible at all since I dont have a middle name at all!


The solution the now told me is to take that cheque to their office and give a application or something to change to change it and it will be done in 21 working days or something.


That ends there.i didnt go anywhere and tore the cheque and learnt my lesson with Tata Docomo. The entire follow-up process lasted for around 1 year.
