This is my very first review on products under the sun.


The product is Personal Accident Cover by TATA-AIG. The only reason which forced me to take this policy was the name behind it, TATA. I had no idea what was stored for me in the coming days. It all started when I received a cold call from TATA-AIG Representative about this policy and my holding an account with Kotak Bank. The representative provided me details of policy.


I checked the details and said yes for auto-debiting of monthly premium from my bank account. The premium for first 2 months was INR10 per month and post this it was INR515 per month. I received the policy documents in few days time which et al. had policy expiry date which was 21-June-2010. These people started debiting my account and it went on fine until June 2010 when policy was supposed to expire.


Now, the real game started. TATA-AIG kept debiting my account until I brought this to their notice and demanded the extra premium deducted from my bank account to be credited in my kotak bank account.


I started following up with these people from Feb-2011. You know the funny part is, whenever you send any email to customtakeoutersupport@tataaig.com, you will receive an instant reply (Atleast system is smarter), but no word from people. However, when these people commit a date, the commitment dies with the call.


I spoke with Matilda first and then with Maria and then with Vanita. I keep receiving emails from Niraj and some Sen in customtakeouter care.


I received the latest email from them last week. So I called these people today (09-May-11) to check the status of my money. After waiting for 2-3 minutes, I got to speak with this girl named Vanita. I asked her if I could speak to Maria and gave her my number. The awful question which came from her was what was my name? Duh? She said she will ask Maria to call me at 2:30 PM? WOW, its 3:30 PM and I still not received call from them.


Their customtakeouter care people are so not aware of the policies of TATA-AIG, they need to check & recheck the details.


So now its been more than 3 months that I have been following TATA-AIG for my money. They keep on sending me assurance emails that somebody from TATA-AIG will revert; nothing happens.


So people, dont buy any product from TATA-AIG. These people will suck your hard earned money. And please dont give others the right to automatchandru021y debit money from your bank account.


These people left me no option than to lodge a complaint in consumer court.
