My Personal Opinion - Say No To TATA-AIG

Thinking that "TATA" would provide the best to the public, I went in for 4 policies. I now regret my decision.


The admin charges are high, the fact was not informed before signing the application. The agents take advantage of the busy schedule of many.


The customer care is the worst I have come across.


I have my own doubts about their accounting / processing department. If you are paying by a cheque they send it for clearance taking their own time. Checking the bank account and finding that cheque is not cleared, I follow up and the CC just carelessly states, the policy is not if force, did you send a cheque and did you send in the envelope you sent and finally says, it would take some time sir.


Finally after a long time I find a cheque got cleared, but after few days I recieve a letter stating the policy is not in force and I need to send some medical certificates. I have been trying to have this issue resolved, but today their toll free numbers would not work. I managed to some get a direct number in Chennai. I speak to CC and they say sorry we may not be in a positiion to help you since the servers are not working.


This is not for the first time I am have had issues with TATA-AIG. In one other case, I send for a change from quarterly payment to yearly, nothing happens, I receive a premium due letter for quarterly, I pay, then I recieve a yearly payment due notice, I call up and after few calls they say send difference, I send, then after few days I recieve a letter the policy is not in force, I ask why they say I have short paid "One rupee". I told them I paid what was stated in the due letter and they would not agree. One CC insisted, I take a four hour drive to the nearest TATA-AIG office and pay One rupee.


What a joke.


My final opinion: Tata to "TATA" - Never in my life I would prefer any "TATA" products.
