PUNE TO MTDC TARKARLI RESORT MALVAN SINDUDURG CRISP n SHORT
Let me share this recent wonderful beach experience with all you guys out there,
But I will try being more crisp and to the point as there are lot of other good long in depth reviews that one can go through.
One fine day we decide to hit this amazing Tarkarli virgin beach located at MALVAN SINDU-DURG, approximately 480 odd kilometers from Pune. We packed out stuff overnight, then in early morning jumped into our midsize FIAT SEINA rock n roll towards this Tarkarli virgin beach. We were out by 6AM and were in MTDC TARKARLI Resort Reception by 3 PM exact 9 hours!
Let me take you guys through the route I took while going to Tarkarli
Pune (NH4)--Narasapur (NH4)--Shirwal (NH4)--Khandala (NH4)--Surur (NH4)--Satara (NH4)--Umbraj (NH4)--Karad (NH4)--Peth (NH4)--Kolhapur (NH4) --->Kale (SH) --> Gaganbavda --> (Karul Ghat) (SH) --> Vaibhavwadi (SH) --> Talere (NH17) --> Kankavali (NH17) -->Kasal (NH17) -->Chouke-->Malvan-->Tarkarli *
Alternative Little Long Route:
Kolhapur (NH4)-Radhanagari--Phonda--Nandgaon-->Kankavali (NH17)*
While coming back, we took a different route, through beautiful view of AMBA GHAT, which eventually was submerged in clouds, one has to pass through to feel and believe! All in all it was lush greenery everywhere, be it a mountains Ghats or agricultural plains.
Tarkarli --> Malvan --> Kasal (NH17) --> Kankavali (NH17) --> Talere (NH17) --> Rajapur (NH17)--> OONI (NH17) --> Take Right Turn at Vaatul (NH17) ----> Narrow SH --> Sakharpa (NH204)--> AMBA GHAT (NH204)> Malkapur (NH204) - Karad(NH4) Satara(NH4) Surur(NH4) Khandala (NH4) Shirwal(NH4) Narasapur (NH4) Katraj (NH4) Pune (NH4)*
Alternative Little Long Route:
Rajapur (NH17) --> Lanja (NH17) --> Pali (NH17) --> Sakharpa (NH204)*
Even by this route it took us exact 9 hours as we were out by 8:10 AM from MTDC resort and were home in PUNE by 5:10 PM
2 WAY TOLL COST: Rs. 400/- (Approx) *
Tarkarli is a complete virgin Beach along the Konkani coast located at approx 6-7 KM from Malvan town. The beach got has shining white sand with high waves falling on it. We planned this July 2010 monsoon trip out of blue one day. I did online booking for 3days NON-AC KONKANI HOUSE on MDTC website (https://maharashtratourism.gov.in/ ), it costed with Rs. 4200/- plus 10% tax Rs. 420/-** which was collected at MTDC TARKARLI Resort Reception. We noticed lot of other accommodation on our way but they were all empty due to off season monsoon months. The resort has its own internal restaurant, where quality of food decent with enough quantity for the price you pay! So alteast our stomach got satisfied without much of a complaints. By the way we loved Surmai/Bangda thali and chicken/prawns curry. Food is all served at room but one has to make a request at this nearby restaurant.
THREE DAYS FOOD EXPENSE: Rs. 1600/- (Approx)*
We have chosen MTDC TARKARLI Resort only because it got location location and location. This is actually very true as mentioned everywhere on web. One can see Whole Ocean with rising falling waves from there KONKANI HOUSE and believe me it gives a deep feeling, stimulating thought and broader imagination for dreamers with very relaxing atmosphere for all others. We love to see and be on beaches when it rains, so we enjoyed every bit of it. There are tall trees all around these KONKANI HOUSES with lot of hammocks to take a swing with the blowing wind- isn’t it feel Amazing!

DEVBAUG (Take right turn just as you come out of MTDC resort) Amazing desert lonely island kind of view where Karli river meets Arabian Sea

We left this beautiful MTDC TARKARLI Resort at heart of beach with an open idea of future revisit, it really made us happy and relaxed.
