First things first, I liked Tanu weds Manu - Part 1 and when I saw the trailer of the sequel, I thought meah . just another predictable and forced sequel. But boy was I proved wrong!

The story is predictable and I will not even attempt to summarize for sometimes it is better to just leave the story behind and just enjoy the characters. This is, without doubt, the best sequel of any film that I had seen in long time and it is ton times better than the original. Yes, this flick is all about the right set of actors coming together all wrapped under a taut screenplay,  crisp editing, fine music(Move on, Mat ja re and Banno lingers) and a crafty  direction.

Each actor plays his/her part well. Madhavan is affable and Deepak Dobriyal, as his sidekick is hilarious. Jimmy Shergill makes his mark and shows how underrated he is in Bollywood. Swara Bhaskar, KK Raina, Rajendra Gupta, Mohammed Zeeshan and others too lend an able hand.

But it is Kangana who rules the cast. And in this she rules twice, once as the maverick, weird and mercurial Tanu and the other as her doppelganger, a feisty and rustic Datto aka Kusum. After Queen, one can hardly debate over KR's acting prowess and she brings in fire in this double-role that sets her miles apart from other contemporary actresses. From the Girl Interrupted kind of roles in the start of her career(Fashion, Gangster) to the demure Queen and now Tanu/Datto, shows the risks that she can take and deliver them to perfection. The double role in this movie is once in a lifetime opportunity and Kangana rewrites entertainment with this act. Be it the Haryanvi straight at your face jibes, or the one liners "abhi to aur jaleel hona hai" or "Sharmaji, humne to thodi si bewafai ki, aap to badchalan ho gaye", are only few samples that brings the house down with whistles and cheers. If there are acting schools then they should include this double-role to teach acting. I was unable to decide which of the two roles was better, sometimes its better not to judge and just to enjoy. For it is only Kangana who can make me empathize with her act even when she crashes her sisters marriage proposal ceremony dressed in just one-piece towel or when she roams the street, drunk, at night with a haunting Geeta Dutt number in the background.  Queen Kangana! you truly rock and you have taken this to a new level. Thanks for your talent, it was the best 2+ hours this year I spent at the movies.

To cut the chase, TMWR is an experience to be cherished for Kangana's brilliant act. A hilarious joy ride that should not be missed. A pure desi movie that reminds us why we love Bollywood.
