Story:

I have always wanted to read Shakespeare, but his original works - the language and style were just too much for me. When I came across this adaptation by Charles and Mary Lamb, I jumped at it. And good I did.

The book summarizes in easy English the renowned stories of the great Shakespeare. My personal favourite is - The Taming of the Shrew. I read the first volume which contains the top 20 stories by the author including Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth.

The Tempest, Othello and a Comedy of Errors as well. For school children especially, I would recommend this as a good start before moving on to the original literary works of the author. These are compressed versions of the stories, but they are an interesting read.
