Before I begin with my review, I would like to wish each and every MOUTHSHUT Members
A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR
Talaash, one of the first release the year 2003 has seen, if our producers and directors stick to such a kind of movie then I feel that they may have to really Talaash (Hunt) for success.
Talaash is the story of four big bad guys
Chotta Pathan - Kabir Bedi
Rajoo Singh - Raj Babbar
Sharma - Dalip Tahil
Shetty - Rami Reddy
One of the henchman Babu (Suresh Oberoi) working under these four guys is arrested, the bad guys promises to take care of Babu's family but they never bother to take care of them. Babu's family leads a life of poverty, and to keep the spirit of their kids high Purnima sings a song for her kids (this song is one of the most important part of this movie as this is the song with the help of which all those separated in the first scene will get united in the last climax scene).
On being released from Jail Babu realises that the bad guys have ditched him and he tries to take revenge on them by becoming a police informer. Bad guys comes to know about this they catch him and bring him to his own house. When they bring him it is the day of Raksha Bandhan so Babu's son Arjun has gone out to bring some gift for his lil sister Pooja before Arjun comes back the bad guys kill Babu and they carry away Pooja with them with a promise of bringing her up for next 15 years and once she grows into a beautiful lady to sell her off or force her into prostitution. On seeing Babu dead and Pooja kidnapped Purnima loses her mental balance.
When Arjun returns back he sees the condition of his mother and comes to know that his sister has been kidnapped by the bad guys. Arjun vows to locate the bad guys and bring back his sister. From here Talaash for his sister starts.
Arjun grows up (Akshay Kumar) and now he is a police informer. With the help of Police commissioner (Ashish Vidyarthi) he comes to know that one of the bad guys Shetty is now one of the top don and Arjun goes and kills Shetty and also gathers the information from Shetty that one of his partners Sharma is returning back to India. Arjun takes Police help to locate Sharma he comes to know that Sharma has come with his daughter Tina (Kareena Kapoor), Arjun tries to get close to Tina, Tina starts loving Arjun.
Arjun kills Sharma and before dying Sharma confesses that Tina is not his daughter but the daughter of Rajoo Singh and she has gone back to South Africa and the head of their gang Chotta Pathan is dead.
Arjun now flies to South Africa and there with the help of an ex-constable Vichtra Singh (Gulshan Grover) who is now a Taxi Driver at South Africa Arjun hunts for Rajoo Singh. In this hunt Arjun also takes the help of a Bar Lady Kamini (Pooja Batra). Kamini also starts loving Arjun.
Does Arjun come across Rajoo Singh? Is Chotta Pathan really dead? Is Pooja still alive, if she is alive has she already been sold off? Does Arjun suceed in rescuing his sister Pooja? Who gets Arjun Kamini or Tina?
For the answers to all the above questions you have to watch Talaash. Readers may not consider this as my recommendation to watch Talaash, you may please watch it at your own risk.
Once out of the movie hall I had to really Talaash for a medical shop to get few tablets for my headache.
Nothing great about the performance of any of the stars of Talaash except for Gulshan Grover who has performed his little part very well.
Viewers gets many chance to take a small nap by way of the songs. Music by Sanjeev Darshan is not upto mark. Suniel Darshan has messed up by taking too many bad guys to fight against one single good man.
Miracle shown in this movie
Arjun gets shot at his back as well as his chest from a point blank range and still he gets up and fights the bad guy. Isn't it the best Miracle of 2003.
Throughout the movie viewers may have to really Talaash for one good scene which is praiseworthy.
I pray god that we get good movies to watch during 2003
