The one and only tabu, the best from the rest of bollwood actresses, I really wasn't a fan of tabu, until I saw maachis, i'll explain that later on. Sushmita sen is considered the tallest actress in bollywood she is 5'9, sonali bendre is 5''8, shilpa shetty 5''8 and tabu as well is 5''8. She is considered one of the tallest actresses in bollywood, she's taller then aamir khan.
She got into the movies because actress shabana azmi is her aunt, her only link to the mumbai film world, she used to live in hyderabad, and her elder sister farha also used to be an actress in the film, but farha couldn't sustain stardom. Tabu and farah always had fights, they weren't sister but were enemies. When farah left tabu enter the film industry in 1985.
HUm naujawan was her first film, directed by dev anand, a bad chocie why would you be in dev anand film, as good he was an actor he was worst director. The movie was a total disaster. Then tabu stayed away from films until 1994, she starred in pehla pehla pyar along with stylish rishi kapoor. The movie was an average film, but still tabu wasn't recognized as good actress, but I love the movie her first.
Then along she was signed with ajay devgan in the movie vijaypath, tabu reached the audience by the song ruk ruk ruk aare baba ruk girl in vijaypath, then when you saw tabu on the screen you knew that was the girl dancing that movie with this song. Then along the way she took some terrible movie saajan ki bahon mein with rishi kapoor, prem and himmat were all flops I still watched them.
Finally priyadarshan signed her for kala paani and she gave a good performance, Then guddu dhanoa risthey darr from the sunny deol family got tabu in the movie tu chor mein sipahi, along with akshay and saif the movie was pretty funny, and tabu danced in some good tunes like hum do premi shat ke neeche gali gali mein shor, yeh aag si dil mein lagi lagi were nice songs and she was capable of dacing as well.
Now came hits and hits in her career, maachis was a big hit and guess who got her national award tabu, yea although karishma kapoor got a award for the movie raja hindustani for best actress which she didn't deserve tabuwasn;t even nominated for the best actress for the filmfare and she wins a bigger award national award, then came saajan chale sasural along with govinda and dhawan jodi, that was jodi number one in 1996 still the movie went to do superduper hit.
She was signed to virasat by priyadarshan along with anil kapoor, the movie was huge success she got the critics award for the best performance for the movie virasat I just simply loved her role and the song she was singing dhol bajne laga wah wah kya baat hai. Chachi 420 was a another hit movie along with kamal hassan tabu does well in the movie along with stars like om puri, paresh rawal and amrish puri, very funny movie.
Then on came the movie border, she was great in the 15 minute role playing sunny deol's wife. Then gulzar directed the movie hu tu tu, tabu won a another critics award for best performance and in 1999 david dhawan signed her for the movie biwi number one tabu bagged a supporting actor award as well, she was so funny in the movie along with anil kapoor playing her husband. Then along with ajay devgan she was in the movie thakshak as well movie was average and I simply loved her dancing in the song rang de mujhe rang de and she gives a another good performance.
Sooraj barjatya took her in the movie hum saath saath hai, which was a hit movie a family entertainer, she played wife of mohnish behl, does justice to the role, but I didn't like that movie. I still watched it because of her, can't miss them. Mahesh manjrekar took her in his hit movie asistva, she gives one of her best performances, She gets three awards for that film but different awards category, filmfare award for best performance, screen award for best actress and zee cine awards for best actress. She was also in the movie jeet along with sunny deol and does a great job.
Then she came into some more ghatiya movies like biwi no.2, ho hazaar ek, were all flops. She was in the movie shikari also along with govinda she was ok, but the movie remained govinda's, she didn't have a great role in the movie. She is director priyadarshan's favorite actress who then took her in the movie herapheri as well, she did well in the role given, but the movie based on akshay sunil and paresh rawal. Then she took some befzaul stupid movies like dil ne phir yaad kiya, aadm dani athani kharcha rupaiya, maa tujhe salam all were flops.
Then came chandni baar, directed by madhur bhandarkar, a great success and her second national award and she also gets zee cine award for best actress, iffa award for best actress as well, I hate that karishma kapoor she never deserved the award for fiza that year tabu did, tabu proved everyone wrong when she took that national award.
I loved in the movie filhaal as well along with sushmita sen, zindagi khoobusrat hai along with gurdas mann, and she played villain iin the movie jaal the trap along with sunny deol. She was great in the movie maqbool and meenaxi. One movie I hate of her's is hawa, why would you work with guddu dhanoa.
Her forthcoming movies are sarhad par with sanjay dutt, fanaa along with aamir khan and kajol where she plays a villain. I really wanna see sarhaad par, the movie has a great story. She as a movie called zakham coming in 2006 or 2007 along with atul kulkarni.
Her real name is tabbasum hasmi born on november 4, 1972, she is 33 years old if my math is correct. She is the best actresses like rani mukherjee, preity zinta, ashwaryia rai, bipasha basu etc no match to her. The best thing about her is her voice, her face and her innocence in the movies. One more thing I like about her she is just a simple actress, she always wears appropriate clothes.
