Super Smashing Lovely Nice.

To the person who only plays Table tennis every once in a while what I say next could seem like, and might as well be a foreign language.

Many people who I have spoken to fail to see how this sort of thing can make a difference, but some people - more serious players - will kno what I mean.

Not only is skill, concentration and determination to win vital, but so is your bat. I don't just mean keeping it nice and new, but the bat itself, the rubbers on it, and in some cases, the glue used to stick them on.

Bats come in many different forms. Yes they all have a handle to hold and a face to hit the ball with, but this is about the only simmilarities that they have. Bats can come with different handle styles, each is supposed to be to suit people depending on what type of ergonomics feels best for them. You can get 3 main types of handle.

(1) Straight. As it says, both edges of the handles are straight, e.g.--- ==O

(2) Anatomic. This is where the handle spreads out in the middle then curves back in to its oringinal width  -^- (almost)

(3) Flare. Come on, you must know what that means - as the trousers.

After you have chosen what style you want the fist little bit of the bat to be, you must then decide on what weight you want the bat to be. The catalogue I am currently looking at has a weight variation of 63g to 103g. Each bat can also come in a different ply quantity. Ply may sound like a nit-picking detail but I bet you would rather have a higher ply piece of toilet roll.
