Table tennis is controlled by the worldwide organization International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), founded in 1926. The weight of the ball is 2.7 gram and diameter is 40 mm. The table is 2.74 m (9 ft) long , 1.525 m (5 ft) wide, and 76 cm (30 inch) high with a Masonite. The racket or bat is 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) long and 6 inches (15 cm) wide.

The player who serves the ball is called as SERVICE and the player who receives the ball is called as RETURN.

The game is of 11 points and service is done by the player after he serves 2 balls. Those who gains 11 points first is the winner. There are two types of shots they are offence and defense.

There are two types of strokes they are forehand and backhand.

Offensive strokes includes

1)Speed drive -In speed drive we shot the ball with more speed so that the opponent cannot return the ball to you.

2)Loop drive-In loop drive we shot the ball with top spin so that the ball after bouncing changes its direction and opponent gets confused to return the ball.

3)Smash-We smash the ball when the ball is near to the net so that the opponent cannot return the ball.

Defensive strokes includes

1)Chop-Chop means cutting the ball i.e when we chop the ball the ball bounces less and we get the advantage because it is difficult to return the chop ball.

2)Block-Block means returning the ball continously till somebody gets that point.

3)Drop shot-It is the best shot when the opponent is far away from the table because we push the ball just to the net.
