I don’t know Hindi and I’ve hardly seen any Hindi movie. Had always been with a thought- why see movies that you know, you can’t understand, there are hundreds and hundreds

of movies to watch. But certainly the view has changed now. I thoroughly enjoyed Tare Zameen Par I should say...

There are so many things in life, that we hardly observe. Life is just so beautiful and if only we had the eyes to see it... But kids do. They have the inquistive spirit, and they are amazed by a lot of things that we hardly care about, or that we hardly notice. That’s a wonderful period in their lives, and they have to live it the way its to be lived. Without pressures, without caring about anything much, taking up things that interests them, spending as much time as they want in whatever they wish, ....

I vaguely remember reading a story, sometime long back, in which the father sitting in a railway station looks at his watch, and is so bored, for the train hasn’t come yet, whereas the child finds everything there to be so amazing and interesting.. He hardly cares about the delay, or worries about anything- leave him there and he’d be so happy, looking at the tracks, the different people moving about, the signals and so on....

Childhood - Such a nice period in once life- isn’t it?  The movie beautifully shows that- the boy looking at the  birds feeding their little ones, an earth-mover in action, a pot-hole filled with water.. and so many more... They are beautiful things aren’t they?  Who says, we can’t see the same thing, we certainly can- right? Its just that we don’t. Maybe, not in everything but atleast in those things that interests us, we should be able to appreciate the beauty or else what’s there in life?

Another thing that the movie makes me think about is "parenting."  Parenting is not an easy thing is it..? - Friends helped me understand those words of Amir Khan on how parenting should be, and I found that so impressive, and very much like what I had thought of.

And the other scene, where Amir Khan buys tea and some biscuits for the little boy who washes the plates-  makes me think that I should also be like that- to help if I feel like, and not to just simply ignore that thought of me helping someone, just because I’ve not been like that before or because generally people arent that way...

I think, the cast is excellent. Everyone’s role is so fresh in my memory. No one takes too much time, or no one takes very little time. Music too is very good, its not been used to just fill in some time but its been used for what music should be used for- to express or else to create the mood...   the last song, while listening to that one knows a grand victory is what is to come...

K, I’ll stop it here, and you guys have any friends who haven’t yet seen the movie- tell them they must.
