When you have to live the character and also convince the audience of your thoughts, only one person is capable of achieving it, Aamir Khan. This man not only lives and breathes his character but also permeates emotions in his fellow workers.
The child artist in the movie is phenomenal. This lad makes you laugh, cry, giggle and wonder that’s not all you can sometimes identify with him at moments when his mother leaves him, when he wanders on the road, thinks of cartoon while studying. There are a lot of incidences in the movie, where I saw myself and thought of the rigor Aamir would have taken, to research on the subject and then define the entire experience into a movie. Well! If it is quality then one has to let go of quantity.
The little boy Eshaan, who could not recognize words and its meaning, was put to test by teachers, parents and society all same the time. Even if it was to demean him or humiliating the kid, each one shared the pride.
Mom in the movie is just like any mom, who would cry when you are in pain and laugh when you win. She understands your emotions and showers her love when you need the most.
Father, the true pride owner and prestige keeper of the family, lives in cosmos that allows only superstars and superheroes to survive. The rest who fail to achieve his stature are either a “school teacher” or just a government servant. Well! I could see my dad somewhere, who would scold me for not meeting his expectations and then there were slurry of comments that I had to live with.
The brother in the movie was just like those good boys, who could do what their parents wanted. As if that was not enough, the younger one, who had the world against him, found a competitor at home. Rescue the poor soul and let him not get tarnished or bruised.
The movie also points finger at academic system in India and their insensitivity towards children who do not perform. Instead of taking the onus of breeding and motivating these young ones teacher would always find ways to call parents and humiliate them. If parents were to teach their kids, why on earth did they ever make schools?
The small boy takes the cake away from Aamir, he stands as a real hero, who not only shows the world that he was capable of winning but also rises up the podium with his uncommon intelligence.
Women should carry a pack of tissues and men should not be ashamed in borrowing a few at the touchy moments in movie.
Keep up the good work Mr. Khan. Thanks the movie was total entertainer.
