'Tara Rum Pum' is another product of Yash Raj Films, directed by Siddharth Anand. The catchy and youthful music has been given by the talented duo Vishal-Shekhar.The lyrics have been penned by Javed Akhtar. So one can expect the music of the movie to be more than average. The album has 6 songs without any remix(Thankgod!)

1) Ta Ra Rum Pum - (Rating- **½)

The title song sung by  Shaan, Mahalaxmi Iyer, Sneha Suresh and Shravan Suresh can be termed as a "family song". It begins with Saif Ali Khan narrating a story of 4 guys: Ta, Ra, Ma and Pa. And that forms the rest of the concept of the song. Personally, it's not one of my favourites. Also, the youth, as in the GenX may find this song juvenile.

2) Hey Shona -(Rating- ½)

A very melodious song crooned by Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan truly takes all the accolades. Frankly speaking, it was hard for me to believe that Sunidhi has sung it, because she's just too good and too sweet! It's that type of song which will surely find a place in the playlists of lovers, couples and people who love Love.

3) Nachle Ve -(Rating- )

Sung by Sonu Nigam and Somya Raoh, it is that typical Bollywood and YRF composition, bole to, when you hear the song you can visualize people dancing, enjoying life, smiling merrily, .the stars adorned with designer clothes, .looking picture perfect, .and ofcourse the backdrop being many exotic locations! To conclude I would say it is a'life-is-rocking' and'lets-dance' type song.

4) Ta Ra Ra Ra Rum Tararumpum - (Rating- **)

This is the sad version of the title song, so probably the reason for it's existence is Saif's accident and failures in the movie. Shreya Ghoshal, who has sung this song, is good and mellifluous. Basically, this song can be played when you are upset due to some family related problem or simply when you're sad and need to be motivated.

5) Ab To Forever - (Rating- )

Well, atleast it has a very catchy start. KK, Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Dadlani's voices make it a peppy, high-powered and spirited composition. But have to mention, the lyrics are seriously weird and a tad bit outlandish! Some parts of the song, at times, don't make sense. But, all in all, it's a  likeable song.

6) Saiyaan - (Rating- **)

Saaiyaan has got a sufiyana feel to it and the rendition given by Vishal Dadlani is something to account for the beauty of this number. Vishal grabs the mike this time and gives us a whole unique voice. Though the rendition falls short of creating that soothing effect through the lyrics, it gels well with the music. A well written track, it may not be of the kind that comes with a chartbuster tag but has in it to go quite well along with the situation.

Bottomline: The album is partly enthralling, partly ignorable. So, I would give it a 6.5/10.

[  *    =  Forgettable

*    =  Not bad

  = Quite good, I really like it

 = Wow, I love it

= I want to hear this forever! ]
