TVS WEGO DISC REVIEW. Review on TVS Wego

So, I have finally completed 1 year on my tvs wego and I can give a comprehensive review of the vehicle. I have been extremely happy with my purchase of tvs wego. After a lot of research I had zeroed in on wego. I got a fully loaded wego with all the extras like front disc break, underseat charging point etc. for 60k Rupees on May 28th 2013. Used it for 8 months in Goa where the conditions after july were of heavy rainfall. The bike posed no problems even in heavy rainfall. Have had long trips (200 kms) with my wife on the wego and we visited lots of places in and around Goa. Goa's weather is extremely moist so the vehicles tend to rust a lot but wego fared very well. It only had minor rust around the nuts which hold the body guard but thats about it and it is a lot less compared to what other vehicles get in Goa. Wego engine is extremely smooth and the bike is very comfortable to ride. The body balance tech works well but requires a bit of getting used to.

Pros :

Sturdy

Comfortable

Stable wobble free ride even with a pillion rider.

12 inch alloy wheels are awesome.

Body balance tech is superb (feels like a motorbike to ride).

Fuel filler is located externally so no need to open seat. At the petrol station we are comfortably seated on the bike while other activa users are fumbling to open their seat covers to access the fuel filler.

Under seat charger has helped a lot...we connect our phone to it and use the navigation so we dont have to worry about the battery dying :)

Metal body is well constructed and does not rattle and is rust resistant.

Styling of the bike grows on you.

Front telescopic suspension makes the ride very smooth and handles potholes with breeze.

Rear suspension is gas filled so it is extremely comfortable ( once I hit a very deep pothole at full speed and the bike did not loose stability and the suspensions handled the bump very elegantly and the bike did not stray from its path, any other bike with spring loaded suspensions would have lost control for sure.

Average is about 45 kmpl which is okay for me.

Seat is wide and soft cushioned and is very comfortable for long periods of time.

Front disc breaks are very powerful and maintenance free.

Rear break is also strong and maintenance free.

Have not changed break pads yet.

6000 kms covered to date.

Bike is still very very smooth and glides through potholes.

The front light is very powerful and illuminates properly during night time.

Tail led light is awesome.

Starter has never failed on me, in fact I have never used kick start even once during the past one year so they have resolved the starter issue which was on previous wego models.

Cons :

Air filter oil had leaked after 8 months on its own but the service center was quick to fix it for free so I had no hassles.

The horn is puny and I dont like it lol ( feels girly).

The tvs tyres lack grip in my opinion. At high speeds you can feel the bike sliding during turns if you push it too hard. A zapper tyre would have been appreciated but i am going to put those tyres when these worn out.

So overall I am extremely happy with the purchase and I couldn't possibly had got all these awesome features in any other bike. So go for it. I am loving it and enjoying my wee time with my wify.
