I have bought TVS Wego on Diwali day. It was cappicino brown scooter, bought by xchanging 5 yr old Honda shine bike.Surprised by my decision on a bike to scooter shift?? Well my exceeding daily commute of over 50 Kms to attend office, that too in stop&go hyderabad city traffic made my biking a dodging experience, perhaps the cluth+gear for every few mins added stress. So my thoughts sifted to someting without gears jhanjat, so there is no better choice than a scooter.

Honda Aviator and TVS Wego are shortlisted, but long waiting period and unfriendly honda servicing made pickup TVS Wego as it was available on spot purchase.

Now I summarize various features:

Engine: Its really good, heard it is a tweaked TVS Star city/Jive engine. Powerful enough to pull rider+pillion in city traffic decently.

Pickup/Performance: Though not a champ in pickup(compared to bikes) but isn't a larger either. It has acceptable pickup and engine sound is smooth. Mileage is not something to boast of in such auto-geared, mine gives me 40kms per litre.

Handling: My tried top speed was 85kmph and it was rock stable. Its design makes it drivable even at low speeds of 10kmph. Suits perfectly in city traffic as it allows u to flick at ease.

Comfort: Has softest and most comfortable seat in bike/scooter class. Its gas charged suspension makes it ride thru the potholes and rough patches of roads with minimal vibs.

Safety: Its large wheels and good ground clearance add to the already excellent package. Has good headlight and twin pilot lamps to make night riding safer. Breaks work perfectly and its big alloy wheels help in stopping the vehicle with no skidding(am surprised compared to my bike experience where its skidding really scares you when you break it at sudden). This is where it scores over Honda scooter which are notorious for skidding on sudden breaks. Perhaps its big wheels(may be its TVS tyres also worth the credit) and good breaking abilities are a big plus compared most scooters and bike in the market. Even its TVS tyres were good(till now I liked MRF only, but TVS tyres too feel good), I have taken the scooter on really bad roads with harsh driving quality, not a puncture till now.

Fit&Finish: Quality if paint is bit inferior compared to honda. Console looks too plasticky. Rest all is okay type. Under seat storage is a bit cramped and dickey can take only gloves.

Overall its a winner from TVS(i wonder why they never do aggressive ad campaigning, when they produce such a nice product). One minus is that tall 6 feet guys like fit it a bit cramped sitting on this scooter, especially with pillion.

Here is what I desire from next version/upgrade of Wego, though they are higher specs inspite of high price, will put it top of charts: increased cc to 125 or 135, better leg space to suit taller men, projector headlamps, illuminating switchgear, front disk brake, body coloured side mirrors, better mileage and pickup, tubeless tyres, bigger fuel tank(atleast 8 litres with reserve), longer seat.
