I had written a negative review in 2004 for my TVS Victor in 2004:

I would like to improve my rating after having completed 11 K Kms to say I am
reasonably satisfied.
There was an IMPOSSIBLE starting trouble with the bike and on 2 occasions
ORION motors, Bangalore had not brought any improvement. Spending 10-15 minutes
starting the bike in winter was common. This was a major cause in such bad
rating. Any product launch without preparing the Service well will lead to a
biased review. Had my starting trouble been immediately fixed I might have
even given a 4 rating.
I feel the same problem can be seen with petrol Indicas wherein you do not
have many Petrol Indica experts.
Even before the free services were over I got the problem corrected by a local
mechanic in the 3rd service. Now I can start it in under a minute in Summer and
under 3 minutes on a cold day at Bangalore.
Many reviews of Victor had confirmed major starting trouble. However I heard
the newer GLX and GLX 125 models are much better.
Regarding mileage I managed to get 60 many times by careful riding and once
got 65 in City. However normally I get 53-55 as I do use the throttle and brakes in City
traffic somewhat freely.
I saw the ad of Honda Shine mentioning ability to start in any gear as a special
feature. It is notable that my 2003 Victor already has it.
Now I can say that I am reasonably satisfied with my Bike doing around 14 Kms of
daily commute (up and down). Max speed I have touched is 80 on Airport Ring road but
was not very much at ease.
