I am a software professional that requires a mode of commute to office which is set in an Technology Park around 15 kms from Pune City. So it was time for me to buy a bike. After careful evaluation between the Splendor and Victor, I decided to go for the later just for the following reason that there are thousands of Splendor everywhere. I wanted a bike that was unique.
LOOKS
-----
This is something TVS could have worked on better. It's not a great looker and won't turn heads. The decals are not very pretty and the colors are too sober. The headlight is also very plain looking, making one wish that TVS were a little more ambitious on this front. The ugliest part of the bike is the fuel tank, which looks like it's taken of the 80s motorcycles.
RIDE QUALITY
------------
The ride quality was a real treat. It is as smooth as can be and the suspension is really good too. Even on bad road, the victor handles well. The handle bar is a little high, which gives a nice comfort feeling unlike the splendor which I feel is kinda low. The gear shift is smooth too. City driving is nice too and one is able to drive in 4th gear at speeds of 20 kmph. Cornering with this bike is great fun.
PERFORMANCE
-----------
The Victor is not meant to be a power bike. So if you are looking to race ahead of competition, this is not one for you. It however does give a good fuel efficiency of 70 kmpl. What else could one ask for. The POWER-ECONOMY Mode indicator is a good add on for the fuel conscious people.
The bike is not without it's void of problems though. On cold mornings, one might face some starting problems. Grrr ..... But the choke works in such situations.
The guys at TVS better upgrade this model quickly. There is competition in the form of Bajaj Caliber 115. If TVS doesn't work on improving this bike, they may loose some of their business to the Caliber 115.
All said and done, this bike is worth the 45K that it costs.
