I am writing this review after selling my 2001 model Victor !!!

I bought a blue victor when it was launched and after riding it for over 80, 000 Kms I sold it two weeks ago.

This bike exceeded my expectations in terms of  its performance, reliability and TVS's service. Though people have a wider choice now, back then the choice was limited and my personal opinion was and is that the Victor is better than the Hero Honda splendor ( I owned a splendor before buying the Victor).

I have taken the bike on some long distance rides (over 550 Kms), though not really the kind of bike you would take on the highways it performed quite admirably on all my rides without any trouble.

Otherwise in the city I travel around 40 Kms a day, with the mileage hovering around 50 - 55 Km/ltr, which I feel is quite a decent figure considering the kind of speeds I maintain, on riding it in a more economical mode it will easliy give around 60 - 65 Kms/ltr.

The bike's performance is not bad either, maintaining a constant 60 - 70km/hr is not a problem and can go upto 90 - 100Kms/hr (speedo reading). The suspensions are pretty good and offer good seating comfort, however for long rides the seats are not that good (it needs to be a bit more firm), for city rides it is perfect.

At around 55, 000 Kms the bike required a change in piston rings and de-carbonising, the wholeservicing cost me around 5000/- Rs.   The other replacements that I have made apart from the regular servicing are, changed the chain once and new tyre set which is required for any bike after running in so many Kms.

In particular I would like to mention about TVS's customer care.  I had a problem with my bike's fuel tank, after the first two years of use the tank developed rust at the welding joints, when I pointed this to the dealer he replaced it free of cost, did not even charge me for the labour though it was beyond the warranty period.  To my surprise the tank again developed a rust at the welding joint two years later (the bike was more than four years old then), I wrote to TVS on their site about the problem and was not really expecting anything to come out of it. But a week later I got a call from TVS and they arranged for the tank to be replaced with the local dealer, again FREE OF COST. Now this is what I call service, they could have easliy given me a hundred reasons and avoided this, but they didn't.

Now if you want to know what happened to the new tank :) problem free from past 4 years, I guess they identified the problem :).

Anyways after nearly seven years and 80, 000Kms I decided to sell my bike and move on to a bigger bike. To sum up my experience about the bike and TVS, Just Great.

Happy Riding.
