I am not sure if this review is going to ''super'' useful as I don't even know if TVS still manufactures the Super Champ.
I have used this vehicle for over 8 years and have had few complaints with it. I took it back to Ramkay in Chennai, where I bought it, as the engine started making some funny noises in the first month. After that was fixed it has been a smooth ride all the way.
I have used the bike in different cities. I have gone to a maximum speed of 65 kmph on it. Having bought it when I was a student, I treat the bike as a boon. Within Chennai and Bangalore, it averages 65 kmpl and has given me up to 72 kmpl for a few years.
It has a kick start and the pick up is very good for a bike in its league. It is stable on the road at both high and low speeds and has good idling abilities as well. The bike, on the whole, has never let me down...come hell or high water...literally. The position of the spark plug is such that even if the bike is left uncovered in heavy rain, it still roars to life after the first or second kick.
I don't fancy riding a 2-wheeler in Hyderabad as the traffic is crazy and have left the bike in Madras. I use it when I visit and it is still going strong after all these years. I get it serviced on a regular basis and as a result, even after 2-3 months of disuse, it starts on the 2nd kick.
